Basic eligibility for MBA Entrance Exam

  • The applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree in any field (e.g. B.Tech, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, etc) can appear for the MBA entrance exams.
  • The candidates appearing in the final year exam of their bachelor’s degree programme are considered eligible too.
  • For integrated MBA programmes, the candidates who have passed or appearing in their class 12th (or equivalent) exam are eligible.

List of popular MBA Entrance Exams

CAT (Common Admission Test)

The Common Admission Test is considered as one of the toughest and most prestigious entrance test conducted in the country. The admissions in IIMs and other top business schools in India are granted on the basis of the CAT score.

MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

The All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts the Management Aptitude Test for offering admissions to the qualified candidates to MBA/PGDM courses. The test is conducted 4 times a year and the score of MAT is considered by over 600 B-Schools across India.

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

The XAT conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur is counted amongst the prestigious MBA entrance exam and its score is considered by over 150 business schools. The exam will be conducted online and the interested candidates can submit their application from the month of August (expectedly).

CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)

The CMAT is conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to grant the qualified candidates admissions into postgraduate management courses. the interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria as well, can register for this exam from the month of October.

IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade)

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade conducts entrance exam entrance test to offer admissions into MBA-IB (International Business) course. The entrance exam is conducted in the offline mode, but the application form for the same is available in online mode.

ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions)

The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) organizes ATMA in order to screen the proficient candidates for admissions in postgraduate programs. This exam is held 5 times a year and as per their convenience and preparation, the candidates can appear for any of them.

NMAT (Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test):

The NMAT by GMAC is conducted with the aim to select candidates for admission into some of the topmost management institutions of the country. The applicants who fulfill the eligibility for this test can apply in online mode.

SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test):

The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is conducted by the Symbiosis International University in the month of December. The test is conducted in over 100 cities and on the basis of marks secured in this test, enrolment is granted in different constituent institutes of the Symbiosis University.

IBSAT (ICFAI Business Studies Aptitude Test):

The ICFAI Business School provides admissions into its management courses on the basis of IBSAT. Admissions are provided at its different campuses situated at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Dehradun, etc. Application form for this exam is made available in both online and offline manner. Kindly note the enrolment in this institute can also be granted via CAT/ GMAT/ NMAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT

TAPMI (T. A. Pai Management Institute Admission):

TAPMI offers the interested candidates admissions into its management courses on the basis of CAT/ XAT/ GMAT score. The candidates can submit their application from the month of November and the shortlisted candidates who quality the WAT/ PI will be granted final enrolment.

MICAT (Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad Admission Test):

The MICAT is a management entrance test managed by the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad. This entrance exam is conducted two times in a year, February and December. The application form for MICAT can only be submitted through online mode.

AP ICET (Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test):

The AP ICET is organized with the aim of selecting candidates for admissions into MBA (& MCA) degree courses. The candidates who meet the eligibility requirements of this test can fill the application form which is released in the month of March (tentatively).

KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test), Karnataka:

KMAT Karnataka, conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA), grants the qualified candidates admissions in over 169 b-schools. The exam is held in around 10 cities all over the country and candidates of Indian as well as foreign nationals can apply for this exam.

KMAT (Kerala Management Aptitude Test), Kerala

KMAT Kerala is an MBA management entrance exam conducted twice a year, February and June. The purpose of this exam is to screen applicants for admissions in top business schools of Kerala. As per their convenience, the candidates can apply for any of these sessions.

TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test):

The Anna University organizes TANCET to provide admissions to the applicants in the postgraduate degree programs. The entrance exam is held in the month of May. The registration for this exam can be done in online mode from the month of April.

GCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test):

To select candidates for admissions into some of the top management institutes of Gujarat, GCET is conducted. Those who wish to appear for this exam, which is normally held in the month of June, can submit their application form.

RMAT (Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test):

RMAT is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Rajasthan Technical University to provide admissions to the candidates in the management courses. Those who match the eligibility requirements can apply of this exam by submitting their application form made available on the official website.

HPU MAT (Himachal Pradesh University Management Aptitude Test):

The Himachal Pradesh University Business School organizes the HPU MAT for providing admissions to the selected applicants in different management programmes. The application form for this exam is released in the month of March and the exam is conducted in the month of June.

TS ICET (Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test):

The Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test is conducted to grant the applicants admissions in MBA (& MCA) courses. The exam is conducted in a computer-based mode at more than 15 regional centers. The application form for this exam is released in the month of March.

JEMAT (Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test):

The Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test is a state-level entrance exam of West Bengal for offering admissions in MBA courses. The exam is conducted in offline mode in the month of May. The application form will however be submitted online, starting from the month of April.

MP MET (Madhya Pradesh Management Entrance Test):

The MP MET is conducted for granting the candidates enrolment into the AICTE-approved government and private MBA colleges of Madhya Pradesh. The application form for this exam can be obtained from the official website of Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MP PEB).
