Visva Bharati University Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Visva Bharati University Admission 2021 are different for various courses. Given below are the eligibility criteria for some of the important courses.

  • B.A. (Honours) Bengali
    • 10+2 or equivalent with 60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Bengali (General/Elective). 54% for OBC candidates
  • B.A. (Honours) Chinese
    • 60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in English at the +2 level. 54% for OBC candidates
  • B.A. (Honours) English
    • 75% marks in aggregate & 75% marks in General English at the 10+2 level. 67.5% marks in aggregate & 67.5% marks in General English for OBC candidates
  • B.A. (Honours) Hindi
    • 45% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Hindi at least (half paper 50 marks) at the 10+2 level. For OBC candidates, it is necessary to have at least 40.5% marks in aggregate and 40.5% marks in Hindi.
  • B.A. (Honours) Indo – Tibetan
    • 50% marks in aggregate and English at the +2 level. 45% for OBC candidates.
  • B.A. (Honours) Japanese
    • 60% marks in aggregate, 60% in General English and 60% in Japanese at the +2 level or candidates qualifying N4 level Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). 54% for candidates from OBC candidates.

    • 10+2 with Minimum 60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Chemistry with pass marks in Mathematics.  54% for OBC candidates.
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Physics: 10+2 with Minimum 70% marks in aggregate and 75% marks in an average of Physics and Mathematics. 63% marks in aggregate and 67.5% marks in average of Physics and Mathematics for OBC candidates.
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Mathematics: 10+2 with at least 60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Mathematics at +2 level. 54% marks in aggregate and 54% marks in Mathematics at +2 level.
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Statistics: Candidates with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Statistics and pass marks in Mathematics or 60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Mathematics if Statistics is not offered at +2 level. 54% marks for OBC candidates.
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Computer Science: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate in 10 + 2 examination.   • Five years integrated M.Sc.: Regular Science students who secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in class XII (10+2) examination are eligible. 54% marks for OBC candidates.
  • M.Sc. Physics: Aspirants should have passed B.Sc. (Physics Honours) with 50% marks in Hons. Subject (45% marks in Hons. Subject for OBC candidates)

Visva Bharati University Admission 2021 Selection Process

  • The admission to some UG courses will be offered based on the qualifying exam merit. On the other hand, admission to some UG courses will be based on the entrance test.
  • Admissions to courses like B.A. – Santali, BFA, B.Music, B.Des – Design, B.Voc. etc. will be provided based on the entrance test.
  • The admission to PG level course is provided on the basis of admission test organized by respective departments of the university.
  • For general candidates, the minimum qualifying marks is 30 out of 100 (27 out of 100 for OBC). There are no minimum qualifying marks for SC/ ST candidates.
