Eligibility Criteria for Polytechnic Entrance Exam 2024
The candidates need to satisfy certain eligibility criteria for Polytechnic entrance exam. Although the specific criteria varies from one state level exam to another, the basic criteria to appear in the entrance exam is given below:
- For diploma polytechnic: The candidates should have passed class 10th or equivalent exam in order to be eligible for admissions. There are some courses that may even require a pass in class 12th exam for admissions.
- For lateral entry: Those who have passed their 12th or equivalent examination can apply for lateral entry into polytechnic courses.

List of Polytechnic Entrance Exam 2024
Admissions into diploma engineering courses offered by the polytechnic institutes of Rajasthan will be provided on the basis of merit. The candidates who have passed their class 10th examination can apply for admissions. The application form for the admissions is released in the month of June.
Director of Technical Education, Assam conducts Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) to select candidates for admissions into diploma courses. The admissions are granted into different polytechnic institutes situated in Assam. The application form for Assam PAT is released in the month of March and for Modern Office Management Admission Test, in the month of April.
For admissions into full time diploma courses, Department of Training and Technical Education conducts Delhi CET. The candidates who qualify the CET are considered for enrolment into different participating Polytechnic institutes. Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria for this exam can submit their applications.
A Joint Entrance Examination is conducted with the aim to screen candidates for admissions into Engineering/ Technology Diploma courses. The exam is generally conducted in the month of April. The interested candidates can submit their applications in online mode. The entrance test is conducted in offline mode.
West Bengal State Council of Technical Education conducts Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics (JEXPO) to select the candidates for admission into diploma courses in engineering/ technology/ architecture. Those who have passed their secondary examination (class 10th) with at least 35% marks can apply for admissions.
The interested candidates can apply for admissions in Kerala polytechnic which is offered on the basis of merit. The application process for the same is done in online mode. The applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria can submit their application from the month of May.
The BCECEB conducts Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination to provide the interested candidates enrollment into polytechnic colleges. The online application form is released in the month of March and the entrance test is held in the month of May. The test is conducted in pen-paper mode.
Admissions into Polytechnic colleges situated in the state of Karnataka are offered on the basis of merit. The interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria as well can apply for admissions by submitting their application form made available on the official website dte.kar.nic.in.
Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh (PSBTE & IT) organizes admission process to select candidates for enrolment into diploma courses. Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination (PECE) is conducted by the JCECEB to screen applicants for enrolment into polytechnic colleges of Jharkhand. The candidates who have passed their 10th or equivalent exam at least 35% marks and are a resident of Jharkhand (permanent/ local) can apply for the entrance exam.
The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada conducts Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) for enrolment in diploma courses in engineering/ technology offered at Polytechnic institutions in Andhra Pradesh State. The process of online registration begins form the month of March and the exam is held in April.
Gujarat Polytechnic Admission
The candidates seeking enrolment in polytechnic colleges of Gujarat can apply for Gujarat Polytechnic Admission. The candidates can apply for the admissions by registering themselves on the official website gujdiploma.nic.in. The registration process generally starts from the month of March.
UBTER (Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education Roorkee) organizes Joint Entrance Exam Polytechnic (JEEP) to select the candidates for admissions into diploma courses. The application form is released in the month of January and the candidates can submit their application in online mode. The exam is conducted in the month of April.
Tamil Nadu Polytechnic Admission
The Tamil Nadu Polytechnic Admission process starts form the month of May with the release of online application form. The candidates who wish to get enrolment into polytechnic colleges situated in the state of Tamil Nadu and who have passed their class 10th or equivalent exam can apply for admissions.
The candidates who wish to get enrollment into the polytechnic colleges of Odisha can submit their application form in online mode. The admission into the diploma courses in these institutes is granted on the basis of merit. The candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can submit their application for admission.
