Candidates seeking admission to different UG and PG programs offered by Jadavpur University must apply for the Jadavpur University admission 2020 through the official website. The admission in B.Tech, B.Pharma and B.Arch is done through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). The examination schedule for WBJEE is provided below-

For admission in M.E/M.Tech/M.Pharm and M.Arch courses

GATE and GPAT qualified candidates are exempted from appearing in the admission test in the stated course. Rest of the candidates must take the admission test to enroll in the said courses. Here are the details of the admission test-

Jadavpur University Admission 2020 eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission in different UG and PG courses vary accordingly. Candidates should ensure that they satisfy the necessary conditions set by the authority to be qualified for admission into the stated programs.

Course Educational Qualification
BA Candidates should have passed class 12th or its equivalent from a recognized board/university.
B.Sc Candidates should have passed class 12th with relevant science subjects from a recognized board. They should have secured minimum 65% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
B.P.Ed Candidates should hold a valid bachelor’s degree in any discipline of a recognized university
B.E/B.Tech A candidate should have passed class 12th with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/ Biology/ Computer Application as the compulsory subjects. He/she should have obtained at least 45% aggregate marks and 30% marks in English at +2 level.
B.Pharm A candidate should have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/ Biology/ Computer Application as the compulsory subjects and have secured 45% aggregate marks.
B.Arch Candidates must have passed class 12th with minimum 50% marks and mathematics as compulsory subject.  They should also have qualified the NATA/JEE Mains Paper-II.
MA Candidates should have done graduation in concerned discipline of minimum three years of duration from a recognized university.
M.E/M.Tech Candidates should have done B.Tech from a recognized university with 60% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates). GATE qualified candidates can apply directly.
M.Pharm Candidates should have done B.Pharma from a recognized university with 60% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates). GPAT qualified candidates can apply directly.

Note: Reserved category candidates will get a proper reservation in the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination as per the rules of the university under the Jadavpur University admission 2020.

Application form for Jadavpur University admission 2020

Candidates can apply for admission in Jadavpur University through the online mode. They need to fill the application form for the admission test. The form can be obtained from the official website of the university. Candidates should fill the form very carefully as once they submit the form, no correction facility will be provided to them thereafter. They also need to upload the scanned photograph and signature during the form filling. It is mandatory for all the applicants to pay the necessary application fee for the exam failing which their applications will be rejected by the authorities.

Jadavpur University Admission 2020 admit card

The admit card can be obtained from the official website of the University. Candidates might need to upload the fees deposit details in the website to download the hall ticket. The admit card should be printed out and kept safe till the admission process is completed. Without the valid admit card, candidates won’t be allowed to participate in the admission test. Candidates should not damage or mutilate their hall ticket under any circumstances.

Jadavpur University Admission test Result and Counselling

The result of the admission test will be declared on the official website of the Jadavpur University. Candidates can check their scores from the web portal by login into the website. The authority will announce a merit list of the shortlisted candidates who will be invited for the counselling process. During the counselling, candidates will be allotted a seat as per the marks secured by them in the test. They will also undergo the document verification phase where the officials will verify all the original documents brought by the candidates.

  • Class 10th mark sheet and passing certificate.
  • Class 12th mark sheet and passing certificate.
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
  • Valid ID proof.
  • Date of Birth proof.
  • Admit card of the entrance exam.
  • Scorecard (if available).

For admission in PG course (documents to brought during admission test)

  • Admit Card of Admission Test.
  • Score Card of GATE/GPAT (if applicable).
  • SC/ST Certificate issued by the Govt. of West Bengal, PW D (Person with Disability) Certificate and Family Income Certificate issued by the competent authority , if applicable.

For Sponsored Category candidates, a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer for the entire course period, relevant experience certificate along with latest Form -16 or appropriate IT declaration along with self-attested copy of each for submission at the time of Admission Test.
