CTET 2021 – The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be conducted by CBSE and those aspiring to become a teacher in govt. schools, aided schools and others can apply for the same. There will be two exam papers- Paper I (primary teacher) and paper II (elementary teacher). Candidates can appear for either or both as per their eligibility. The exam will be conducted twice in the year- in the month of July and December. Application form for July exam will be released in the month of January and for December exam in August. CTET 2021 Exam Key Points
- Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
- Using their registration number and password, candidates can login to their account for uploading image, downloading admit card, etc.
- The candidates are not required to send hard copy of application confirmation page to CTET Unit.
- A window for correction in the application form (limited details) will be provided to the candidates after the submission process is over.
- If a candidate submits online more than one application, his/ her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled.
- Exam center once allotted cannot be changed. Candidates will be able to provide their choice for the exam center in the application form.
- Records of CTET including OMR answer sheet will be preserved upto two months from the date of result declaration and can be downloaded by the applicants.

CTET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The CTET eligibility criteria 2021 are mentioned below for both paper I and paper II:
For Classes I-V: Primary Stage
- Candidates who have passed class 12th or equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and holds 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education degree are eligible.
- Those with a pass in class 12th or equivalent exam scoring at least 45% marks and has 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002 can apply too.
- Applicants who have cleared class 12th or equivalent exam with not less than 50% marks along with 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education are also eligible.
- Candidates with pass in class 12th or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) can apply.
- Those with a Graduation degree scoring 50% marks in minimum and having a Bachelor of Education degree are eligible too.
For Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage
- Those who have done graduation and also hold 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education degree can apply.
- Candidates with graduation degree with at least 50% marks and who also have 1-year Bachelor in Education can apply too.
- Applicants with graduation with 45% minimum marks along with 1-year Bachelor in Education degree in accordance with the NCTE Regulations are eligible as well.
- The candidates who cleared class 12th or equivalent exam scoring at least 50% marks and have 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education degree are also eligible.
- The applicants with a pass in class 12th or equivalent exam with 50% marks in minimum along with 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed. can also apply.
- Those with graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) degree can apply.
- Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear.
Apply online for CTET Exam 2021
Here are the steps you need to follow to apply for CTET exam in 2021:
- The application form for CTET 2021 will be released online on the official website www.ctet.nic.in.
- Candidates are required to provide info like name, date of birth, gender, identification type, qualifying exam details, password, etc into the application form.
- After providing these details, a registration number will be generated that should be noted down by the candidates.
- Scanned copies of candidates’ signature and photograph should be uploaded into the application form.
- After this, the candidates can proceed with application fee submission to complete the process of application.
- A confirmation page will be generated after fee payment. Candidates should take its printout and keep it safe for future reference.

Admit Card
Ans: Please follow the steps below in order to download your admit card:
- Candidates will be able to download their CTET admit card by visiting the official website.
- In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, the candidates should immediately contact CTET unit.
- The candidates should report for the exam as per the time and center mentioned in their admit card.
- It is advised that the candidates read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the exam.
Result
- Result of the CTET exam will be declared online around six weeks after the commencement of the exam.
- Candidates will be able to check their result from the official CTET website using their roll number.
- A qualifying certificate will be provided to the candidates who clear the eligibility test.
- The candidates can then apply for teaching jobs in different private and govt. schools as per their eligibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any limit to the number of attempts for clearing CTET?
There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.
What is the validity period of CTET certificate?
The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of the result.
What if I fail to download my OMR sheet? Is there any way I can still get it back?
Candidates can request a photocopy of the OMR sheet by paying fee of Rs. 500/- per OMR, via Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, payable at Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank.
