CTET Eligibility Criteria 2023 For Classes I-V and Classes VI-VIII

Candidates, willing to appear in CTET exam 2023, must check their eligibility for before applying CTET exam. The CTET eligibility criteria, prescribed by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) have been listed below for the use of candidates.

CTET Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications for Teacher: Classes I-V

  • Candidate must have done Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and cleared or pursuing in final (two- year Diploma) in Elementary Education or its equivalent qualification
  • Candidates having Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks and passed or pursuing in final (two- year Diploma) in Elementary Education or its equivalent qualification in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002 are eligible for exam.
  • Applicants, who have done Senior Secondary or its equivalent, obtaining minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final (four–year duration) Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can also apply.
  • Candidates having Senior Secondary or its equivalent qualification with minimum 50% marks and passed or pursuing in final (two–year) Diploma in Education (Special Education) can also apply.
  • There will be a relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc./Senior Secondary level for SC/ST/ Differently abled applicants.

Minimum Qualifications for Teacher: Classes VI-VIII

  • Candidates, who have done B.A. /B.Sc and passed or appearing in final (two –year) Diploma in Elementary Education or its equivalent examination, are eligible for the CTET exam.
  • Candidates having B.A. /B.Sc. with minimum 50% marks and passed or pursuing in one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) can also apply.
  • Candidates, who have done B.A. /B.Sc, obtaining minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in one–year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations are eligible for the entrance test.
  • Candidates having Senior Secondary or its equivalent qualification with minimum 50% marks and passed or pursuing in final (four–year) Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can also apply.
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and passed or pursuing in final (four year) BA/B.Sc. B.Ed or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed)
  • Candidates, who have done B.A. /B.Sc by obtaining minimum 50% marks and passed or pursuing in 1–year B.Ed. (Special Education) are eligible for the test.
  • A diploma/degree programme in teacher education acknowledged by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only will be considered. However, in the case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only will be considered.
  • There will be a relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc./Senior secondary level for SC/ST and Differently abled applicants.

  2. I have passed in ctet december 2019. And i scored 86 marks in nvs TGT ENGLISH on september 2019.when i applied the post of nvs tgt i didn’t clear ctet.but now i have passed.whether they will accept my eligibility or not?
