Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam commonly known as SSC CHSL is a national-level entrance test. It is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit higher secondary qualified candidates into several government organizations, departments, and ministries for different posts such as Junior Secretariat Assistants, Data Entry Operators, and LDC etc.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria
The Commission has set some eligibility parameters for SSC CHSL including educational qualification, age limit, and candidate’s nationality, etc. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling out the SSC CHSL application form.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have cleared the 12th examination or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Age limit
The minimum age limit is 18 years and the upper age limit is 27 years. However, age relaxation is provided to the candidates belonging to the reserved category.
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of either Nepal/Bhutan.
Application Form
The online application process for SSC CHSL 2024 will be commenced in May 2024. Candidates should provide accurate details in the online application form. In case of any discrepancy found in the details given by the candidates will lead to the termination of their candidature at any stage of the SSC CHSL recruitment process.
To apply online, candidates should visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission and click on the SSC CHSL Recruitment 2024 link. Thereafter, they need to provide some details like contact number, name, and email ID to register themselves.
After the successful registration, candidates will be allowed to access the SSC CHSL application form. In the form, candidates have to provide details like educational qualifications, personal information, and other details as per the prescribed format.
The candidate will have to upload his/her photograph and signature with the prescribed specifications. After submitting the form, candidates have to pay the SSC CHSL application fee. Candidates should take the printout of the SSC CHSL application form and keep it for future use.
Application fee details
SSC CHSL 2024 Application fee for male candidates belonging to General and OBC categories is Rs 100/. The application fee is not applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Female/Ex-servicemen categories.
Examination Pattern
As per the latest revised notification, the examination pattern for SSC CHSL is modified. Now, the commission will conduct the SSC CHSL exam in two stages i.e., Tier-1 Exam and Tier-2 exam. The SSC CHSL tier -3 exam is reduced from the selection process.
The examination pattern for Tier-1 (CBT) is almost the same, while Tier-2 (CBT & skill test) is completely changed. The SSC CHSL 2024 examination pattern for both exam stages is provided below.
Examination pattern for Tier-1
Tier-1 will consist of objective type- multiple choice questions only. It is a computer-based test and there will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.

SSC CHSL Salary
The salary for SSC CHSL will be varied for different government posts. In general, the monthly in-hand SSC CHSL salary for the posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) starts from around 19000/-.
SSC CHSL Admit Card
The Commission will release the SSC CHSL Hall ticket online a few days before the date of the exam. Candidates can download the admit card by visiting the official website of SSC. To download the admit card, candidates need to provide their registration number and date of birth.
The admit card will contain the examination details like the date and time of the test, the candidate’s roll number, name of the examination centre etc. Candidates should take the printout of admit card for further use.
Answer key
Staff Selection Commission will release the candidate’s response sheet along with tentative answer keys on their official website after the successful conduction of the exam. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections (if any) in the tentative answer keys with the payment of Rs.100/-per question/answer challenged.
The response sheets will be available online for a limited period so candidates are advised to take the printout of their respective answer sheets for further reference.
Result
Candidates who will be appeared in the exam successfully can check the SSC CHSL result online by visiting the official website of the Commission. The SSC CHSL result will include the list of shortlisted candidates for various posts in Government departments/ Ministries/ Organizations.
In addition to the result, the commission will also display the SSC CHSL cut-off marks. The cutoff marks will help the candidates to understand their eligibility for further rounds of the selection process.
Selection process
SSC CHSL selection process includes two stages i.e., Tier 1, and Tier 2. Previously, it was a three-tier selection process but as per the latest notification, the commission has reduced one Tier of the exam.
