The candidates must check the eligibility criteria given below before applying for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2022.
Nationality:
The candidates with the following nationality can apply
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention of permanently settling here.
- An Indian origin person migrated to India from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or east African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, the United Republic of Tanzania or Vietnam with an intention of permanently settling here.
Age limit
The age limit will depend upon the post as given below:
For Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist in ministry of Mines: 21 to 32 years
For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) in ministry of water resources: 21 to 35 years
Note: Relaxations in the upper age will be given the candidates from the reserved categories.
Educational Qualification
The candidates must have following educational qualification in order to appear for the exam.
For Geologists: The candidates must have a master’s degree in Geological science/ Geology/ Applied Geology/ Geo-Exploration/ Mineral Exploration/ Engineering Geology/ Marine Geology/ Earth Science and Resource Management/ Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or any other relevant subject.
For Geophysicists: The candidates must have an M.Sc degree in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Exploration Geophysics/ Applied Geophysics/ Marine Geophysics/ or any other relevant subject
For Chemist: The aspirant must have an M.Sc degree in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry.
UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Application Form 2022
The application form for UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2022 will be released in online mode through the official website of UPSC. In order to apply for the exam, the candidates need to enter all the required information such as educational details, contact details, personal details etc. While filling the application form, the candidates have to select the examination center. In addition to the details, the candidates have to upload the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature in the application form.
After submitting the application form, the candidates have to pay the prescribed application fee. The candidates should keep a printout of submitted application form along with fee receipt for future requirement. However, there is no need to send the printout of application form to the UPSC office.

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Admit Card 2022
The UPSC will release the admit card on the official website three weeks prior to the exam date. In order to download the admit card, the candidates have to provide some basic details like RID, date of birth etc. If a candidate cannot find his/her admit card online then he/she should contact the UPSC authorities immediately. No candidates will be allowed to appear for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist examination 2022 without a valid admit card.
Result and Selection
The result of UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2022 will be announced on the official website of UPSC. The authorities will issue the separate merit lists for all the categories. The candidates who will get their name in the merit list will be required to fill and submit the DAF (Detailed Application Form). The printout of DAF along with the attested copies of relevant documents needs to be sent to the UPSC office.
After declaration of written exam result, the successful candidates have to carry the original documents for verification purpose while appearing for the interview/ personality Test.
