CTET Exam Pattern 2023: Types of Questions, Marking Scheme, Exam Duration

Every year, Central Board for Secondary Education commonly known as CBSE conducts CTET exam for the candidates who wish to make their career in the teaching profession. Applicants, who are planning to appear in upcoming CTET Exam, must go through this post to get important information on CTET exam pattern 2023 as prescribed by the CBSE board.

Highlights on CTET Exam Pattern 2023

  • In CTET, all questions will be asked in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type.
  • Each question will carry one mark, with four alternatives options out of which candidate have to pick one correct answer.
  • There will be no negative marking in CTET exam.
  • CTET Exam will consist of two papers.
  • Paper 1 will be for those candidates who want to be a teacher for classes I to V and Paper 2 will be for those, who want to be a teacher for classes 6th to 8th.
  • A candidate who intends to be a teacher for both levels will have to appear in both the papers.

Structure of Paper I (for classes 1 to 5):

Paper 1 contains a total of 150 questions of 150 marks. Duration of CTET paper 1 will be two and a half hour i.e. 150 minutes.
