VITEEE 2021: Counselling

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) will soon be announcing the admission into different branches of engineering offered by it. Candidates who are interested in pursuing B.Tech need to apply for VITEEE 2021 by filling the application form. The authority has released the form on 30th November 2020. Students can opt for online or OMR form as per their convenience. Before applying for the exam, they must check their eligibility status. VITEEE entrance test will be an online test that will be of 2 hours 30 minutes. There is no provision for negative marking in the exam. Therefore, candidates should attempt all the questions if possible.

VITEEE 2021 counselling process has been commenced from 21st June 2021.

VITEEE 2021 Must Read Points

  1. Applicants can choose to fill either the online form or offline form as it suits them.
  2. The cost of application form is non-refundable. No fee shall be remitted for multiple applications.
  3. Candidates must possess a valid email id and phone number to register for the exam. The authority will communicate to them through these mediums in future.
  4. Admission in VIT will purely be based on the marks secured in the entrance exam.
  5. The application form must be submitted on or before the due date specified by the authority otherwise it will get rejected.
  6. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test. Such students will further be invited for the counselling where a seat will be allocated to them based on different parameters.

VITEEE 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check their eligibility status from the eligibility criteria laid down by the authority-

Nationality: Applicants should be an Indian national/PIO/OCI and NRI. PIO/OCI candidates should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years.

Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after 1st July 1999.

Qualifying examination: Candidate should have completed or is appearing in 2021 in any of the following-

  • Class 12th exam from a recognized board.
  • Intermediate or two-year pre-university exam conducted by a recognized board.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Organization, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • NIOS candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the +2 exam through different boards in the same academic year are not eligible for VITEEE 2021.

VITEEE 2021 Application Form

Candidates need to visit the official website of VITEEE 2021 to register themselves for the exam. They must bear a valid email id and mobile number for the registration. Candidates can also purchase the OMR application form from the university premises.  The application form will ask for the following details- name, mother’s name, gender, religion, date of birth, address, test center, educational details, and payment details among others. Candidates also need to upload their scanned documents in a proper format.

Students need to ensure that these details are carefully filled as no correction window will be provided to them once the form is submitted. If the information given by the candidates is found to be misleading then such candidates will be debarred from taking the exam. The form must be submitted on time to avoid its rejection by the authority. Applicants need to pay the required sum of money in form of application fee for the exam. The applications received without the fee shall be considered invalid.

 Note: The payment of the form can be done through net banking, credit card and debit card for online form and in cash from different post offices listed on the official website for OMR form. The OMR form can also be purchased from the university premises through DD made in favour of “Vellore Institute of Technology” payable at respective campuses.

VITEEE 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus for VITEEE entrance exam is as follows-

  • Physics: Work, energy and power, laws of motion, electrostatics, properties of matter, current electricity, magnetic effects of current, electromagnetic induction and alternating current, optics, dual nature of radiation and atomic physics, nuclear physics, semiconductor devices, etc.
  • Chemistry: p, d, and f block elements, atomic structure, coordination chemistry and solid state chemistry, thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, and chemical kinetics, electrochemistry, alcohols and ether, carbonyl compounds, etc.
  • Mathematics: Trigonometry, matrices and determinants, analytical geometry of 2D, vector algebra, analytical geometry of 3D, integral calculus, differential calculus, differential equations, probability, etc.
  • Biology: Taxonomy, cell and molecular biology, reproduction, genetics and evolution, human health and disease, biochemistry, plant physiology, human physiology, biodiversity, ecology and environment etc.

VITEEE Admit Card

  • On successfully booking the test through online test booking system, candidates can generate the admit card for VITEEE 2021 exam.
  • The admit card will indicate the card number, photograph of the student, address of the test center, test date and time selected by the candidates.
  • In case a discrepancy is found, it must be brought to the notice of VIT immediately so that necessary steps can be taken to rectify it.
  • Candidates will also get the copy of admit card on their registered email id.
  • They must bring the admit card and a valid govt. id proof to the exam venue. Failing which, they won’t be allowed to appear in the exam.

VITEEE 2021 Result and counselling

  • Students can check their result on the official website of VIT i.e. vit.ac.in.
  • A merit list will drawn based on the marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called to attend the counselling process where a seat will be allotted to them.
  • The counselling for allocation of branches to the short- listed candidates will be based on their All India Rank (AIR) in VITEEE 2021.
  • Students need to submit their documents at the time of counselling such as VITEEE admit card, class 10th and class 12th marks sheet among others. Without these documents, they won’t be permitted to participate in the counselling process.
