SAAT 2020: Application Form, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT 2020) will be conducted by the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan for admission in various UG and PG programs offered by the institutes under it. Through SAAT, candidates can enroll themselves in different disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Management etc. Interested candidates must apply for the exam to be qualified for the admission in the specified courses.

Medical/Dental aspirants will be given admission on the basis of the scores obtained by them in the NEET exam. B.Tech aspirants can get admission through the SAAT score or JEE Main score. Important Dates for SAAT 2020

The official dates are not announced yet, candidates can take a reference from the tentative schedule of the SAAT 2020 given below-

Eligibility Criteria for SAAT 2020

Candidates should ensure their eligibility status before proceeding for the application form. The eligibility criteria for the SAAT exam is as follows-

Undergraduate (UG) Courses

Course Eligibility Criteria
B.Tech Candidates should have qualified class 12th or equivalent exam with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the subjects Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Informatics/ Statistics/ Technical Vocational and have scored minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved category)
B.Pharm Candidates should have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology or any equivalent from a recognized board
BHMCT Candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC category).
BBA Candidates who have passed class 12th or equivalent with Mathematics as a compulsory subject can apply.

Postgraduate (PG) Courses

Course Eligibility Criteria
M.Tech Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline of engineering with 50% marks (45% for reserved category).

M.Sc degree holders can apply only for some branches.

MBA/MHA/MHM Candidates should have passed the bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved category).
M.Pharma Candidates should have done B.Pharm with minimum 55% marks.
MCA Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 50% marks (45% SC/ ST/ OBC candidates) and have studied Mathematics at either +2 or +3 level are eligible to apply.

SAAT 2020 Application Form

The application form will be available on the official website. The form will only be available via online mode. Candidates will have to register themselves first using the details such as mobile phone, Email ID, name etc. The login details will be sent to the Email Address registered. Candidates need to use the details to login into the page in order to fill the form. The application form must be filled carefully. Students will also be required to upload their scanned photograph and signature. Candidates should preview the application form before finally submitting it. They should also keep a printout of the filled in application form for future use.

Note: Candidates need not pay the application fee for appearing in the SAAT Examination.

SAAT 2020 Exam Pattern

The Exam Pattern for SAAT is provided below-

  • Exam Mode: Online (CBT based)
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Type of Questions: MCQs
  • Medium: English
  • Marking Scheme: +4 marks will be awarded for each right answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answers


The complete syllabus will be available on the official website for individual courses. However, on a general note, candidates wishing to get admission in the UG courses can prepare for the test keeping in mind the syllabus taught in class 11th and class 12th. PG aspirants can prepare as per the syllabus taught in graduation or the UG syllabus of the PG program they wish to enroll in.

Preparation Tips for SAAT 2020

Here are some important preparation tips for the candidates that they should follow to succeed in the exam-

  1. Know the syllabus first before starting your preparation.
  2. Make a timetable that can be followed easily.
  3. Routinely solve the mock papers to improve your performance.
  4. Revise the topics studied at the end of the day.
  5. Eat healthy food and involve yourself in outdoor/fun activities to keep your mind fresh.
  6. Make short and precise notes for easy and quick revision.
  7. Avoid wasting time on social media or mobile phone in general.

SAAT 2020 Admit Card

The admit card will be available to only those candidates who have submitted the application form successfully. The hall ticket/admit card can be downloaded through the official website. The printout of the admit card should be kept safe till the admission is over. It is mandatory for the students to carry the admit card in the exam hall. Candidates should read the details in the admit card and if a discrepancy is found, they must inform the authority immediately.

SAAT Result and Counselling 2020

Candidates can access their result through the official website. The authority will publish the result probably in the 1st week of May. Candidates should regularly check the website for fresh updates on the SAAT 2020. Different merit list will be published for different courses. Each qualified candidate will be provided a rank card. Candidates will be called for the counselling according to their performance in the exam. During the counselling, candidates need to fill their choice of course, institute and discipline. A seat will be allotted to the candidate based on the choices opted by him/her in the counselling. Candidates need to report to the concerned institute to finish the admission related formalities.
