How to re-register for IGNOU admission 2022?

Candidates who once registered for IGNOU admission but couldn’t complete the course can re-register for the course using the previous enrolment number. Follow the step by step instructions given below to re-register for IGNOU admission online.

  • Go to the official IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in and click on Register Online option from the top menu.
  • From the drop-down menu, select Re-registration.
  • Important instructions will appear on the screen. Read those instructions carefully, check mark the box next to ‘I have read and understood the instructions given above’ and click on ‘Proceed for Re-Registration’ button.
  • A login window will appear on the screen asking for your enrolment number, password and captcha.
  • Provide these details correctly and click on the ‘login’ tab.
  • Your registration profile will open on screen. Tap the ‘Continue’ button on the screen.
  • Course details page will open where you can select the elective/optional courses you want to pursue.
  • Enter the courses and click on Next button to proceed with detail verification. On the detail verification page, check all the information carefully.
  • Check the self-declaration box and press the Next button to go to payment option.
  • On the Fee detail page, select the mode of payment (credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking).
  • Re-registration fee related to your course will appear on screen. Click the Make Payment button and provide your account details.
  • Click on the Pay button to make final payment after which the re-registration process will complete.
  • The candidates are suggested to take printouts of the fee receipt and the application form and keep it for future reference.
  • A confirmation message will also be sent on the registered email ID and mobile number after successful submission of form.

  • Go to the official IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in and go to the Downloads section.
  • From the left hand menu, select re-registration form. Re-registration forms for all courses will appear on the screen.
  • Search and click the link of your course to open the re-registration form. save and download the form.
  • After downloading, take a print out and fill in all the required details- enrolment number, Regional Centre Code, Study Centre Code, name, address, Optional/Elective Courses choice, date, email ID and mobile number.
  • Enter these details, paste a passport size photograph and enter signature at the designated place.
  • Send the filled-in application form along with the prescribed fee to The Regional Director of your Regional Centre.
  • For fee payment, a draft should be made in the name of IGNOU payable at the city of the Regional Centre.
  • Keep a copy of the application form and the demand draft with you in case of future correspondence.

A confirmation message is sent to the candidates right after completing re-registration process. Alternatively, the registration status can also be checked 30 days after re-registration. However, if any candidate does not receive status confirmation even after 30 days, he/ she is suggested to contact the university officials.

What if I forget my previous enrolment username/ password?

In the login window which asks for your previous enrolment number and password, the option to reset password is present at the bottom of this window itself. Click on the ‘Reset Password’ button and follow on-screen instructions to reset the password.
