IGNOU Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria have been prescribed for different courses offered by IGNOU:
For bachelor’s degree course:
- BA and BBA: Applicants who have cleared their class 12th exams are eligible for these courses.
- B.Sc: The candidates who have passed their class 12th exam preferably with Science subjects are eligible.
- B.Com: Those who have passed their class 12th exam preferably with Commerce subjects are eligible.
- BCA: The applicants should have cleared their class 12th exam with Mathematics as a subject.
- B.Ed: Any bachelor’s and/ or master’s degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/ Humanity with at least 50% marks or BE/ B.Tech degree in any specialization with 55% marks is required.
For master’s degree course:
- MA: The candidates who have completed bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject are eligible.
- M.Sc: Those who have completed their B.Sc degree in the relevant field are eligible.
- M.Com: Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree in any field can apply. Candidates with B.Com degree are preferred.
- MBA: A bachelor’s degree in any field or a Chartered Accountancy/ Cost Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship degree with not less than 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) is required.
- MCA: Candidates having a bachelor’s degree in any field with Mathematics as a subject at either 10+2 or graduation level can apply.
- M.Tech: Applicants with BE/ B.Tech in the relevant specialization are eligible to apply.
IGNOU 2024 Application Form
The candidates will be able to fill the application form for IGNOU Admission 2024 through online mode. Application form for entrance based courses will be made available on the official website of IGNOU NTA www.ignouexams.nta.nic.in. for merit based courses, application form can be obtained from the university’s website www.ignou.ac.in.
- Candidates will have to provide their basic personal, academic, contact and other details into the application form.
- Scanned copies of photograph and signature of the candidate should also be uploaded in the application form.
- Application form, complete and correct in all manners, can then be submitted online along with the prescribed application fee.
- The applicants should keep a hard copy of the duly filled and submitted application form with them for future reference.
- There is no need to send the hard copy of the application form or any other document to the university.
Application fee:
- The application fee for will be Rs. 600/- for MBA & B.Ed courses and Rs. 1000/- for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing course.
- Candidates can pay the application fee through debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

IGNOU 2024 Admit Card
- The admit card for appearing in the IGNOU entrance exam can be downloaded from the official website of the NTA.
- A printout of the admit card should be taken and carried to the exam centre on the day of exam.
- No applicants will be allowed to appear for the entrance exam in the absence of admit card.
- No duplicate admit card will be issued to the candidates in case of loss or damage. Damaged admit card will be considered as invalid.
- The candidates are advised to keep their admit card safe till the whole selection process is over.
IGNOU 2024 Result
- Entrance exam results will be declared by the authorities on the official website as per the specified schedule.
- Candidates who clear the entrance exam will be eligible for participating in further admission process like counseling, document verification, etc.
- A merit list on the basis of marks secured in the entrance test by the candidates will be prepared.
- For courses with no entrance exams, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of their marks on the qualifying exam.
- Further admission process will be conducted according to the merit list.

Question 1: Is there any way I can submit my application form offline?
Answer: No. The application form for IGNOU admission will only be released through online mode.
Question 2: How can I provide my choice for nearest regional center?
Answer: Choice for regional center can be provided at the time of filling the application form. Study material for the qualified candidates will be made available at the concerned regional center only.
Question 3: Does the university conduct its own entrance exam?
Answer: No. The National Testing Agency will conduct the entrance exam for admission to the IGNOU.
Question 4: Can I apply for admission to more than one programme at IGNOU?
Answer: Yes. Given that you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for different programmes at IGNOU.
Question 5: What if an ineligible candidate applies for IGNOU admission?
Answer: Candidature of the applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will be cancelled at once, even if the candidate was able to secure admission falsely.
