IGNOU B.Sc Nursing Admission 2023: Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility

Indira Gandhi National Open University will release the official notification for IGNOU B.Sc. Nursing admission 2023 soon. The duration of post basic B.Sc Nursing program at IGNOU is 3 years and only in-service nurses can apply for admission. The university will conduct OPENNET entrance exam in order to shortlist the applicants. Please note that the candidates who are looking to apply for this exam need to have a diploma in general nursing and midwifery (GNM)/ certificate in nursing course.

Quick Notes

• The admission is available only to the in-service nurses having more than 2 years experience.
• A candidate will get the facility of selecting the exam test center as per his/ her preference.
• The admission will be given on the basis of region-wise merit list to be prepared after the exam. SED, IGNOU Head Quarters, New Delhi will prepare the region wise merit list.
• An applicant can get admission only to that regional center in which he/she will apply.
• Authorities will only consider the experience that is gained by the candidate after RNRM registration.

IGNOU BSc Nursing 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants need to make sure that they fit in the eligibility criteria below before starting the application process

• The applicants need to be in-service nurses i.e. Registered nurses and registered midwives (RNRM) with at least 2 years experience (after registration as RNRM).
• Must have a Diploma in General nursing and midwifery (GNM) after passing 10+2 exam.

Or

• The candidate should be an in-service nurse (RNRM) with at least 5 years experience (after registration as RNRM)
• Also, must have a diploma in General nursing and midwifery (GNM) after clearing the class 10^th or equivalent exam.

Some important information regarding eligibility criteria

• In case a male candidate doesn’t have a diploma in general nursing and midwifery then he must have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration as specified by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery.
• There is no age limit in order to apply for IGNOU B.Sc. Nursing admission 2023.
• The candidates with less than two years of experience as RNRM are ineligible. Work experience before the registration as RNRM is not considered.

IGNOU B.Sc. Nursing 2023 Application Form

• Interested candidates who want to apply for IGNOU B.Sc. Nursing 2023 admission need to get the application form through the regional center.
• To get the application form, the aspirant may visit the regional center or request form through registered post.
• In addition to this, the candidates may also download the application form from the official website i.e. www.ignou.ac.in.
• After obtaining the application form, the applicants need to fill the details in a neat and clean manner.
• All the personal, contact, and educational details required to be entered in the application form.
• The candidates also have to affix their photograph on the application form.
• Please fill the application form accurately and completely because the incomplete application form can get rejected.
• The aspirants need to submit the duly filled application form to the regional center in which they want an admission.
• Also submit the application fee in case of the application form is downloaded from the website.
• Keep a photocopy of the submitted application form safe for future reference.

Application Fee

• The application fee for IGNOU B.Sc. Nursing exam 2023 is Rs. 1200/-.
• A candidate can pay the application fee in cash at the time of purchasing the application form from the regional center.
• In case the candidate has downloaded the application form from the website or submitting it via registered post then the fee is Rs. 1210/-

IGNOU BSc Nursing 2023 Exam Pattern

Here is the exam pattern for the IGNOU OPENNET 2023.

• Mode of Examination: offline (pen and passed based)
• Number of Question: 120
• Type of Questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
• Duration of exam: 150 minutes
• Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark
• Maximum Marks: 120
• Syllabus: The questions will be based on the subject studied at GNM level.

IGNOU OPENNET 2023 Admit Card

• IGNOU will release the admit card for the entrance exam on its official website.
• Candidates have to download the admit card and take a printout of the same.
• Important details such as date, time and venue of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card.
• It is mandatory for every candidate to carry the admit card at the time of the exam. Otherwise, they will not be permitted to appear for the exam.
• Keep the admit card safe even after the exam because it will be required at the time of counselling.

IGNOU OPENNET 2023 Result and Merit List

• The entrance test result will release in the month of September 2023 (tentatively)
• Please note that the university will declare the result on its official website.
• After the declaration of result, the university will release region wise merit lists for admission.
• The merit list will be based on the marks secured by candidates in the OPENNET exam.
• In case two candidates have the same marks then an aspirant with more experience as RNRM will get the preference.

IGNOU BSc Nursing 2023 Counselling

• After the release of region wise merit lists, the counselling will take place at the respective regional centers.
• During the counselling process, admission of the candidates will be finalized.
• The admission will be granted strictly on the basis of IGNOU B.Sc. Nursing 2023 entrance exam merit list. However, reservation policy will be followed as per the norms of Government of India.
• Every candidate needs to carry all the documents in original as well as photocopy at the time of counselling for verification.
• The admission will be confirmed only after the payment of prescribed admission fee.

• Admit card of the entrance exam
• 10^th class certificate as date of birth proof.
• 12^th class certificate
• RNRN registration certificate
• Experience certificate
• GNM Mark Sheet (including all year mark sheet)
• NOC from the organization where the candidate is working currently.

• Incoming Certificate (in case of OBC non-creamy layer candidates)
• 2 passport size photographs
• 18000/- admission fee in the form of a demand draft in favour of IGNOU, payable at the concerned regional centre
