HPCET 2023: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test 2023 (HPCET 2023) will be conducted by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU). This exam will offer admission to various professional courses such as B.Tech, MBA, B.Pharma, MCA etc. in the colleges affiliated to HPTU. The candidates looking to appear in this exam need to submit the application form in online mode. Please note that the university might release HPCET application form in June 2023.

The question paper for B.Tech, B. Pharmacy and B. Pharmacy Ayurveda will be the same. The exam will be conducted in offline (Pen and Paper based) mode. It is a state level exam to be held at different cities across the state of Himachal Pradesh.

The HPCET 2023 exam pattern will be as follows:

Mode of Examination: offline (OMR Sheet based Exam)

Exam Duration: 3 hours for B.Tech/ B.Pharmacy/ B.Pharmacy (Ayurveda) and 2 hours for rest of the courses

Type of Questions: Objective Type multiple choice question only.

Marking Scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for a correct answer in B. Tech./ B. Pharmacy/B. Pharmacy (Ayurveda)/ M. Tech. / M. Pharmacy /MBA /MBA(T&HM) /MCA course papers and 1 mark will be awarded for a correct answer in rest of the papers

Negative Marking: 1/4^th of the marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

HPCET 2023 syllabus depends upon the course for which the candidate is applying. The subjects for different courses are as follows:

• BBA: Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Ability, Logical Ability & Reasoning, English, General Knowledge.

HPCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The aspiring candidates should check the eligibility criteria given below before submitting the HPCET 2023 application form.

For B.Tech

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics and any one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in the mentioned subjects.

For B.Pharmacy

• The aspirant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and any of the Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects
• It is compulsory for the candidate to have at least 45% (40% for reserved category candidates) aggregate marks in the above mentioned subjects.
• The age of candidate should more than 17 years as on or before 31^st December 2023.

For MBA/ MBA (T & HM)

• The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates)

For MCA

• The candidates must possess a bachelor degree of a minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates)
• The applicant must have studied Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.

HPCET 2023 Application Form

• The application form of the HPCET 2023 exam will be available on the official website of the university i.e. www.himtu.ac.in.
• In the application form, the candidates have to enter all the mandatory academic, personal and contact details.
• Please make sure that all the details entered are authentic because documents will be verified during the later stages of the admission process.
• While entering the details, the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
• After entering all the details, the candidates need to pay the application fee as applicable.
• The applicants should keep a copy of the submitted application form safe for future reference.

• All other candidates: Rs. 1550/-

B.Pharmacy and B.Pharmacy (Ayurveda) both/ B.Tech and B.Pharmacy both

• SC/ ST/ BPL Candidates: Rs. 2800/-
• All other candidates: Rs. 3100/-

Mode of payment        

• The candidates need to pay the application fee using e-Challan, Credit card or debit card.

HPCET 2023 Admit Card

• HPCET 2023 admit card duly signed by Controller of Examinations (COE) will be available for download on the official website.
• In order to download the admit card, the candidates have to enter their application form number.
• In case of a discrepancy with the admit card, the candidates may contact Controller of Examinations, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur (H.P.)- 177001
• It is compulsory for every candidate to carry admit card at the exam center along with a photo ID proof such as Aadhar card etc.

HPCET 2023 Result

• Before declaring the result, the HPTU will release the answer keys. In case of a problem with answer keys, the candidates may contact controller of exam within two days.

HPCET 2023 Counselling

• The selected candidates will be invited to take part in the centralized HPCET 2023 counselling organized by the university.
• During the counselling process, the candidates have to provide their choice of college and course.
• Apart from this, the documents of the candidates will also be verified at the time of counseling.
• The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of marks secured and choice filled by the candidates.
