Scholarship/Assistantship for Post-graduate Programs in GATE

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2019 will be a national level exam that will be conducted by IISC or one of the seven IITs to determine the candidate’s eligibility for admissions to post graduate engineering programmes such as M.E, M.Tech or Direct PhD. GATE 2019 scores will also be considered for Public and private sector recruitments as well.

Scholarship for PG programs in GATE

• MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) will provide the GATE PG scholarship 2019 to the candidates who will secure an admission to PG Program in an institute that is supported by the central government.
• The GATE PG scholarship 2019 of the candidates will be managed by the admitting institutions. The institute will also specify the number of candidates who will be given the MHRD scholarship.
• Candidates please note that the MHRD will the scholarship through the institute only there will be no provision for the direct allotment of scholarship.

Selection of Candidates for PG Admissions

• The procedure of admission will be different for all the institutes. Some institutes will grant the admission directly on the basis of candidate’s performance in GATE 2019 exam while some institute may conduct their own test or interview as well.
• In case the institute will organize is own test or the interview, at least 70% weightage will be given to the candidate’s performance in the GATE 2019 exam and rest will be given to the institute’s test , interview or academic record.
• Candidate should contact the corresponding institute in order to get the complete details about the admission procedure and respective MHRD scholarship for the institution.

Reservation for PG admission and scholarship

• The admitting institute will provide the reservation to the different categories as per the norms and policies of the government of India.

Important Points about

• Notifications for the PG admission through GATE 2019 will be issued separately by respective institutions. The GATE committee will not manage the admission process in any institute.
• The candidates are advised to contact the respective institute for inquiries about admission, reservation of seats, awarding of GATE 2019 scholarships. The GATE zonal offices will not entertain any such queries.
• Qualification in GATE 2019 will also be considered for various other fellowships to be offered by the different government organizations.
