Introduction to GATE 2019- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a popular national level entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and seven zonal IITs (at Delhi, Bombay, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Madras and Roorkee). This year, the exam to be processed by IIT Madras. The authority conducts this exam on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
Qualifying in GATE is essential for admission into Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and Doctoral program in the relevant branches of Science. Along with that, there are a number of PSU’s which recruits candidates based on GATE score.

About GATE 2019
GATE 2019 is going to be conducted for 24 papers on 2nd, 3rd, 9th & 10th February 2019. It is a Computer-based test conducted at various centers located across India and at six cities abroad. Your GATE Score will be valid for 3 years from the date of declaration of result. Interested and eligible candidates who are going to appear in GATE 2019 Exam should fill and submit the application form on or before the due date.
GATE 2019 Organizing Institute
GATE is organized jointly by the IISc. Bangalore and seven IITs at Guwahati, Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee and Madras. IIT Guwahati conducted the GATE exam last year. GATE Papers 2019
GATE 2019 is going to be conducted for 24 papers. A candidate can apply for only one paper out of 24 papers according to his/her eligibility. In case a candidate has submitted more than one application for the same paper, he/she will be permitted to take the exam in any one session. GATE 2019 Application Form
All the interested and eligible candidates have to apply online only. It is notified that GATE registration process for the year 2019 will be commenced from 1st September 2018. The conducting board will give a time period of approx 1 month to complete the application process. For GATE Online application form fill-in process, candidates have to visit the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) and have to register as a “New User”. Once the registration is done successfully, candidates will get the access to GOAPS. By using the same they can log in and access the Application form. Fill all the mandatory fields and upload required documents carefully. Make the payment of applicable fee via Net banking, debit card or e-challan.

GATE 2019 Application Form Correction
If you have committed any sort of mistakes in GATE 2019 application form then you can make the necessary corrections according to the guidelines mentioned below in the post:
- Candidates would be allowed to make corrections from the third week of November 2018 by making a correction fee of Rs.400/-
- You are allowed to make the corrections in restricted fields only.

Candidates are permitted to select three cities from the list of exam centers. While choosing the exam cities, keep in mind that first and second cities must belong to same GATE zone and the third city may be from other GATE zones. If a candidate selected his/her first choice from a particular GATE zone then the second choice must be made from the same zone. However, the third selection can be made from any other zone.

GATE 2019 Syllabus
The syllabus of GATE 2019 will be released on the official website by the conducting authority for all the 24 papers. Understanding of GATE Syllabus is important for better preparation. It should be noted that the syllabus of GATE for each discipline is different. Candidates are advised to check out the syllabus for the related discipline carefully and start their preparation accordingly.
GATE 2019 Admit Card
The admit card of GATE 2019 will be available at the official portal of GATE i.e. GOAPS after the release of official notification. The authority will not send the admit card via email/post. It is notified that the downloading of the admit card will commence from 4th January 2019. Candidates are suggested to take the two or more copies of admit card to avoid discrepancies on the examination day. The GATE admit card 2019 will bear the important information of the exam such as candidate’s name, exam center address, photograph & signature of the candidate and other details.
GATE 2019 Answer Key
The authority will publish the GATE 2019 Answer Key for all the papers on the official website soon after the successful completion of the exam. Candidates can check and download the answer keys by logging in using their Registration details. In case, the candidate found any discrepancy in the official answer key, then he/she can also challenge the answer key by deposing a specified fee.
Once the evaluation process of answers is finished, then the actual marks obtained by a candidate will be considered for manipulating the GATE score. In case of multi-session subjects, raw marks obtained by the aspirants in different sessions will be further converted into the Normalized marks for that particular subject. Hence, raw marks in case of single session paper or normalized marks for multisession papers will be used for evaluating the GATE score on the basis of qualifying marks.
GATE 2019 Result
The officials will release the GATE 2019 Result most probably in the month of March 2019. Candidates, who appeared in the exam successfully, can check the result online from the official website by entering their GATE Registration Number or Email ID. Along with the result, the authority will also publish the GATE Scorecard of the qualified candidates.
GATE 2019 Counselling
The GATE 2019 counselling will be conducted separately by various IITs, NITs, and other institutes. IITs will not organize any common counselling for offering admission to PG courses. A centralized counselling (CCMT) will be held by NITs annually for admission to M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan courses. Many other participating institutes and universities will conduct their own counselling process. The counselling will be strictly based on GATE 2019 scores.
GATE 2019 Norms at International Centers
GATE 2019 will be organized in following cities abroad- Colombo (Sri Lanka), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Singapore, Kathmandu (Nepal). The application fee for Singapore and Dubai (UAE) centers is US$ 100 and US$ 50 for remaining cities. Candidates belong to any nationality are eligible to opt for International centers.
- Only a genuine Passport/College ID/ Government issued ID/Employee ID will be considered as recognized identification at International centers.
- In case of foreign nationals, SC/ST/PwD categories norms will not be applicable.
- The application procedure for the foreign nationals will be as similar to the Indian nationals.
