DASA PG 2023: Application form (12 June), Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Dates

Direct Admissions of Students Abroad PG 2023 or DASA PG 2023 is an admission scheme that is managed by the HRD ministry, Government of India. Under this scheme, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-residential Indian (NRIs) and foreign nationals are given admission in different PG courses. The admissions are provided in some of the top colleges in India including IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), etc. Candidates seeking admission through the DASA PG 2023 scheme need to fill and submit the application form in online mode.

DASA PG 2023 Overview

  • For granting admissions under this scheme, no entrance exam is conducted by the authorities. The seats are offered based on the GRE/ GMAT score.
  • There are no criteria of age limits for DASA PG 2023 admission.
  • The candidates have to submit the registration fee and tuition fees along with the application form. The tuition fee will be refunded in case the candidate doesn’t get the admission.
  • The medium of instruction in all colleges is English.
  • To get admissions, all the candidates have to submit a medical fitness certificate issued by an authorized medical practitioner in India or in their home country. Alternatively, they can opt for undergoing a medical fitness test at the time of reporting at the allotted institute.

DASA PG 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates should ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper or lower age limit for DASA PG 2023 admission.

Residential Criteria

Candidates need to fulfill any of the following residential criteria mentioned below.

  • PIOs, OCIs, and foreign nationals who have completed their graduation from any country including India.
  • Indian citizens who have completed their graduation from outside India.
  • Those Indian citizens who have NRI status from the last three years after getting a bachelor’s degree from India.
  • Indian citizens having a UG degree from CFTIs under the DASA scheme.
  • Indian candidates who have completed graduation from India after completing their 11th and 12th classes (or equivalent) from outside of India.

Educational Qualification

  • For admission to M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan./M.Des./MURP courses, the candidate should possess a 4/5 year graduation degree in the field of Engineering/ Technology with relevant subjects.
  • For admission to the MBA program, the candidate should have a UG degree recognized by the association of Indian universities/ UGC/ AICTE/ other statutory bodies as applicable.
  • Please note that the aspirants need to have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (6.50 CGPA on the scale of 10) in the qualifying exam.
  • Those candidates who will appear for the qualifying exam and expecting their results to be released by the 15th September 2023 are also eligible.
  • Additionally, the candidates should also have a minimum of 300 GRE Revised General Test Score (Verbal + Quantitative) for M.Tech/ M.Plan/ M.Des/ M.Arch admission.
  • For MBA admission, the applicant should have at least a 480 GMAT Test score.
  • If the GRE is taken before 1st August 2013 then the aspirant should have a valid minimum total of 1200 GRE revised general test score (quantitative + verbal).
  • Please note that some M.Tech colleges also have some special eligibility criteria of their own. To check them, you should visit the official website of DASA. To get admission into these colleges, candidates need to fulfill these special criteria along with the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

DASA PG 2023 Application Form

Interested candidates who are looking to apply need to submit an online application form. The details regarding the DASA PG application process 2023 are as follows.

  • In order to apply, the candidates first need to register on the official portal using their email ID.
  • An application ID and password will be generated after registration.
  • Next, candidates need to sign-in using the credentials generated during the registration and access the application form.
  • In the application form, aspirants should enter their academic, personal and contact details very carefully.
  • In addition to the details, the candidates need to upload scanned images of their signature, photograph, and other relevant documents.
  • The candidates should have a look at the preview of the application form carefully after filling all the details.
  • After submitting the form, candidates should pay the application fee.
  • For future references, aspirants should keep a copy of the application form submitted and fee receipt.

Documents to be uploaded in the application form

  • Passport of the applicant (candidates from Nepal who do not have a passport can apply using a copy of their Authenticated Citizenship Card).
  • Proof of the date of birth (Secondary Education Board / University Certificate or other certificate issued by the Government authorities).
  • Semester-wise Mark sheets/ Grade card of the qualifying exam.
  • Degree certificate or provisional certificate (if the degree course is not completed).
  • Course completion certificate (for the students awaiting results).
  • Residential proof of the Indian candidates having completed their UG degree from India – Proof of completing UG degree under DASA scheme, Proof of NRI status from last three years after graduation from India, Proof of passing 11th and 12th standard from outside of India.
  • Proof of application fee payment.

Application Fee

  • The applicants have to submit a total of USD 4300/- along with the application form. Out of which, 300 USD is the registration fee and 4000 USD is the tuition fee.
  • Students from SAARC nations will get a waiver of 50% of the tuition fee. It means they have to submit only USD 2300 while submitting the application form. Here, 300 USD is the registration fee and 2000 USD is the tuition fee.
  • Applicants who are from Bhutan or Nepal can submit the fees in USD or equivalent Indian rupees (in case the payment is made from the banks in Bhutan or Nepal). Remember, if the aspirant submits` the fee in Indian rupees then he/she need to submit an exchange rate certificate from the bankers along with an application form.
  • Aspirants will get the facility to pay the fees either through the SWIFT Transfer or via E-Payment.

DASA PG 2023 Merit List

  • Once the application process gets over, the authorities will prepare a merit list based on the GRE/ GMAT test scores.
  • Only those applicants will be considered for merit list preparation who will submit their GRE/ GMAT test scores before the last date.
  • In case the GRE/ GMAT test scores of two or more candidates are equal then the merit list will be prepared in the following manner.
    • For M.Tech admission: the candidate with a better GRE analytical writing score will get a better merit position.
    • For MBA admission: the candidate with a better GMAT Analytical writing assessment score will get a better position in merit.
  • The decision of DASA PG 2023 core committee will be final regarding the merit list.

Seat Allotment

  • The seats in DASA PG 2023 are going to be allotted based on the merit and choice filled by the aspirants in their application forms.
  • Authorities will upload the list of selected candidates on the official website.
  • Candidates should note that the authorities will not send them individual allotment letters by post or by email.
  • To confirm their admission, the selected candidates have to submit their confirmation of acceptance for the seat allotted within a stipulated time.
