About National Institute of Technology Surathkal

Established on August 6th, 1960, National Institute of Technology (NIT) preciously known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College is a well known public engineering university at Surathkal, Mangalore. The institute was set up by the government of India and is approved by the MHRD. It is one of the 31 NITs of India and recognized as an Institute of National Importance.

Campus

NIT Karnataka has a built-up campus, near to Arabian Sea. The campus is sprawled over the 295 acres of land in Sriniwas Nagar on the National Highway 66. The campus of NIT Karnataka is located near to the Mangalore international airport, railway station and ship port. It is situated around 22 km away from Mangalore towards Udupi and easily accessible by the road, rail and air.

Courses

National Institute of Technology, Surathkal offers B.Tech courses, M.Tech courses, M.SC and MCA courses. The institute also runs management courses such as full time 2 years MBA programme. NIT Karnataka also offers the research programmes in all engineering disciplines.
