UPTU Examination: Pattern, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria

UPTU notification may announce soon. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University is the respective authority which organizes the UP State Entrance Examination every year. The exam is organized for offering admission to 1st year of B.Tech/ B.Pharm/ B.Arch/BHMCT/ BFA/ BFAD/ MCA/ MBA/MAM courses.

Through UPTU, Candidates can also get enrolled into 2nd year B.Pharm/B.Tech / MCA programmes. Aspirants who are eligible for the test must submit the UPTU application form before the due date. The complete details on UPTU are mentioned below in this webpage.

UPTU Important dates

The expected schedule of UPTU is given below:

Admit Card

The authority may release admit card online in April on its website. Candidates should bring their admit card while appearing in the examination center. No candidates will not be allowed to write in the examination without a valid admit card.

Eligibility Criteria for UPTU

The prescribed eligibility criteria of UPTU for different courses are as follows:

Educational qualification:

1. B.Tech (L.E -2nd Year) A Diploma holder and B.Sc. graduate with Mathematics as one of the subject at 12th can apply
2. MCA (2ndYear) Should possess BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) degree
3. B.Pharm (2ndYear) Should hold a diploma in Pharmacy
4. B.Tech Applicant should have passed 10+2 level or equivalent qualification with Mathematics and Physics as mandatory subject and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology /Technical Vocational subject.
5. B.Arch Applicants should pass 10+2 level or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as necessary subject and any one of the following subjects: Engineering Drawing / Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
6. B.Pharm Aspirant must have done 10+2 level or equivalent examination with Mathematics/Biology and Physics as required subject and any one of the following subjects: Biotechnology / Chemistry / Technical Vocational subject.
7. BHMCT/ BFA/ BFAD Should have done 10+2 level or equivalent examination from any stream.
8. MCA Should possess a Bachelor Degree or its equivalent qualification with no less than 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates from SC/ST category).  Moreover, applicant should have studied Mathematics at 12th level or Graduation level.
9. MBA Should possess Bachelor Degree or its equivalent examination with minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category).
10. MAM Applicants must have done 10+2 level or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks without grace marks (40% marks for candidates from SC/ST category) in aggregate.

Other conditions

  • Indian Citizens/ Kashmiri Migrants/ NRI candidates are eligible to apply.
  • There is no provision on age limit.
  • Appearing candidates can also apply.

UPTU Application Form: How to apply?

  • The authority will release the application form most probably from Jan.
  • Candidates can fill and submit the UPTU Application form only through online mode.
  • Candidates should keep ready their scanned images of the left hand thumb impression, photograph, and signature before applying.
  • No need to send any hard copy of the confirmation page & other documents after completion of the application process through offline mode.
  • Applicants are advised to keep the print copy of the confirmation page & application form number safe with them for the future use.

Application fee

  • Candidates from Male/Transgender of general and OBC category should pay Rs 1200/-
  • In case of Female / Physically Handicapped applicants of all categories and SC/ST candidates, the application fee is Rs 600/-

Payment of fee

Candidates can pay the examination fee through online mode through using the Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

UPTU Examination Pattern

Please find the crucial highlights of UPTU:

  • The UPTU Entrance test will be held 11 papers
  • The questions in the test will in the form of multiple choice type questions excluding Drawing Aptitude Test (Part B of paper 4).
  • Paper 1 to Paper 4 will be held through OMR Based Test only.
  • Paper 5 to Paper 11 will be conducted in CBT (computer based test) mode only.
  • For each correct response +4 marks will be given.
  • No provision of negative marking.

Result

Candidates who appeared in the exam can check their result along with the answer keys most likely in the month of May. The authority will prepare a separate UPTU rank list for each course on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the exam.  After the announcement of result, candidates can also check their merit position & score card list through the official site.

Counselling

The conducting authority will invite the shortlisted candidates for the counselling procedure as per their merit rank. The UPTU counselling process may commence from June. To know more about counseling procedure, counselling venue and schedule, candidates are advised to visit the official portal of university. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of UPTU merit, total number of seats and availability of seats in the particular category.
