UPMT 2021: UPMT has been replaced by NEET and hence the admission into MBBS/BDS programme across Uttarakhand state will be offered based on the merit of candidates in NEET exam. The counselling process for the state quota seats will be organized by H.N.B. Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU). In this post, I’m sharing here information regarding MBBS/BDS admission in the colleges of Uttarakhand state.

UPMT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

When it comes to UPMT eligibility criteria, an Indian citizen who has passed the class 12th exam with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English is only eligible for the exam. It is also essential to obtain minimum 50% marks (40% for OBC/SC/ST) in the qualifying exam. There is a provision that an appearing candidates is also eligible to apply.

Talking about the age criteria, a candidate should be minimum 17 years old as on 31st December 2018. The upper age criterion in this case is 25 years as on 31st December 2021. Candidates of reserved category will be able to get the age relaxation by 5 years.

Merit List

UPMT has been replaced by NEET and hence the admission will be based on candidates’ merit in NEET exam. All candidates have to appear in NEET UG in order to become eligible for getting admission into MBBS/BDS programmed offered by the colleges of Uttarakhand state.

Counselling Process

UPMT 2021 counselling process will be conducted based on candidates’ merit in NEET exam. The counselling process is expecting to be commenced in the month of August 2021. Candidates should regularly visit this section if they want to get further updates on NEET counselling process.

During counselling process, candidates will be asked to make the payment of counselling fee amounting Rs.1000/- (Rs.700/- for SC/ST). The counselling process is scheduled to be conducted in two phases. Candidates have to keep following documents ready:

  • Class 10th & 12th mark sheets;
  • Passing certificate of class 10th & 12th;
  • Admit card and score card of UPMT 2021;
  • Character & category certificate of candidates;
  • Domicile certificate;
  • Certificate of Locomotors Disability (in case applicable);
