About UIET

University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kanpur (UIET) is the Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) of Kanpur University, India. The institute was founded in 1996 and it was previously known as the ‘Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kanpur’.The institute has been established with an aim to offer various UG and PG courses in Bioinformatics.

UIET is an autonomous institute of the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur (CSJM University Kanpur). The present strength of the university is to 1700 students. Candidates can take admission in the institute by submitting the admission form through the official website of the University. 

Courses Offered by UIET

• The UIET offers various four years Bachelor’s degree which is known as the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in different disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering.
• There is three years’ bachelor level degree in Computer Application.
• Institute offers the Postgraduate courses which are referred as the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electronics and Bioinformatics and several other disciplines as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  

Admission Process

The university conducts the University Entrance Examination (UEE) for providing admission to the eligible candidates. Candidates need to apply if they have already passed the exam of previous qualifying degree through the online application form. Furthermore, candidates will be issued the admit card after applying for admission and will be invited to take part in the entrance test. Candidates, who qualify the entrance test, will be eligible to take admission in the institute (UIET).
