SCRA Eligibility Criteria: Age, Nationality, Educational Qualification

Before applying for the entrance exam, it is advised that the candidates check the SCRA Eligibility Criteria. Eligibility criteria are simply the basic requirements necessary for the candidates to meet if they wish to appear for the exam. The aspirants need to clear their class 12th exam in order to be eligible for SCRA. Only those candidates who meet all the requirements as laid down in the eligibility criteria should fill their SCRA application form. Application form of the ineligible candidates will be rejected and no refund of application fee will be provided. SCRA Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidates aspiring to appear in the SCRA entrance exam are given below. The SCRA eligibility criteria mentioned below are given in terms of nationality, age and academic criteria.

The candidates who fulfill the following criteria for nationality are eligible to apply:

  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Those who are a subject of Nepal are eligible too.
  • Subject of Bhutan are also eligible for SCRA exam.
  • Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India can apply.
  • Persons of Indian Origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling are also eligible.

Age limit:

  • Lower age limit: The minimum age of the candidate as on 1st January 2021 should be 17 years.
  • Upper age limit: The maximum age of the aspirants must not be more than 21 years as on 1st January 2021.

Educational qualification:

The minimum academic requirements for appearing the SCRA exam are given below:

  • The candidates should have cleared their class 12th or any other equivalent exam from a recognized board/ university.
  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subject in class 12th level is also mandatory.
  • Applicants should have scored a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in their class 12th or equivalent exam.

Important Notes

  • All candidates other than the Indian nationals will be required to bring a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
  • Applicants, who will be appearing in their 12th standard exam in the year of admission, are also eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
  • A relaxation in upper age limit of 3 years will be given to the candidates belonging to the OBC category and of 5 years to the candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen category.
  • Even if admissions are granted, the candidates found ineligible at any further stage will result in losing their candidature.
