Directorate of Government Examinations will release the official notification for RTE Admission Tamil Nadu 2022. Under the right to education (RTE) Act 2009, 25% of the total seats are reserved in private schools in the state are reserved for all students of weaker sections. It is important for parents to check the eligibility criteria carefully before submitting the application form. Please note that the application forms of ineligible candidates will be summarily rejected.

  • Candidates should belong to the state of Tamil Nadu.
  • Only those children are eligible whose parents belong to economically weaker sections, disadvantaged groups, disadvantaged groups-special categories.
  • For LKG admission, the date of birth should be between 31st May 2018 and 31st July 2019.
  • In order to get admission to class 1st, the date of birth of the child should fall between 31st May 2016 and 31st July 2017.
  • Children from  BC-others, MBC, ST, SC-others, SC-arunthathiyar, OC, DNC (Denotified communities), can also apply.
  • The annual income of the family of an applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.
  • Preferences will be given to disabled children, wards of scavengers, and HIV infected among others.

Those eligible candidates who want to apply need to fill and submit the application form online. The application form will release through the official website i.e. http://rte.tnschools .gov.in.  The complete process of application form submission is explained below.

  • To start the application form submission, aspirants have to visit the official website and register.
  • At the time of registration, aspirants have to provide some of their basic details like Name of the student, email address, phone number, etc.
  • Once registered, candidates may sign-in using the login credentials generated during registration.

  • Once, the application form submission process gets over, the authorities will prepare the list of candidates selected for admission.
  • The selection of candidates will be on the basis of an open lottery system.
  • of School Education in Tamil Nadu will give preference to the children residing within a 1 km radius of the school.
  • Disabled children, wards of scavengers, and HIV infected among others will also get preferences.
