Rajendra Agricultural University, Samastipur is counted among the 26 agricultural universities of India and located in Samastipur district of Bihar. The university was established on July 4, 1903 as Imperial Agriculture Research Institute but later in 1934 its main building was heavily damaged due to major earthquake encountered in Bihar. Thereafter, the Imperial Agriculture Research Institute had shifted to New Delhi which was later established as Rajendra Agricultural University on 3 December 1970 by Government of India. Though, the university has been known for providing ultimate education to learners in agriculture domain since its establishment. Apart from the education, the research works are also conducted by the University for Usefulness of candidates.
