PU CET PG 2021: Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date, Registration Process

The Panjab University will conduct the PU CET PG 2021 with the aim to provide admissions to the candidates in various courses of law, management, engineering, health and sciences, arts and humanities, etc. The candidates will be awarded the degree of post graduation after the completion of their course. All the notifications related to the exam will be uploaded on the official website. In order to keep you up-to-date, we will also post all the recent updates here on this page.

Eligibility Criteria for PU CET PG 2021

Following are the eligibility criteria for the candidates appearing for different postgraduate courses:

LLM One-year & Two-year course:

  • The candidates who wish to appear in the PU CET PG 2021 for LLM should hold a 3-year degree in LLB or 5 year degree in BA LLB/B.Com LLB or equivalent.
  • The minimum passing marks should be 55% and the degree must have been awarded from the Panjab University.

MCA:

The applicant must possess a first degree of at least 3-year in any discipline or BCA or equivalent examination for the Panjab University.

MA Journalism & Mass Communication:

  • It is necessary that the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree with 45% in Journalism & Mass Communication subject and 50% in aggregate from this university only.
  • Those who have done BA/B.Sc with Honors in Journalism & Mass Communication or have earned a Master’s degree in any subject or equivalent will also be considered eligible.

Master in Public Health:

Those with Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks are eligible.

MA in English:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with 45% to 50% marks in any discipline.

The duration of exam will be 90 minutes and the questions will be objective type.

MCA:

The duration of exam will be 90 minutes and the questions will be objective type.

MA Journalism & Mass Communication:

The duration of the test will be 90 minutes and both subjective and objective type questions will be asked. The paper will be of 75 marks in total where 65 marks will be for the written test and rest 10 marks will be for GD & PI. The written test will be divided into following major sections:

  • Article writing on current event, précis writing
  • Writing on personalities, reviews, etc
  • English comprehension
  • Interpretative passage

Master in Public Health:

The duration of the paper will be 90 minutes and will carry 75 marks with the marks distributed as follows:

PU CET PG 2021 Application Form

The application form for PU CET PG 2021 will be uploaded on the official website of Panjab University, cetpg.puchd.ac.in. The applicants can apply in more than one course. However, after three courses, an additional charge of Rs 300/- per subject will be applicable. The candidate can submit the duly filled application form along with the application fee of Rs 2100/-, (for general) and Rs 1050/-, (for SC/ST/PWD candidates). For fee submission, the website generated bank slip should be deposited at any SBI branch, maximum one day after printing the bank slip. An application number will be generated after the filling of the form along with login id and password. The candidates must take a printout of the application form after submitting it, for future reference.

The candidates, who are applicable for fee concession under the category of SC/ST/PWD or Panjab University class B/C regular employee, should send a photocopy of their filled form along with a self attested copy of the category certificate.

Admit Card

The admit card for PU CET PG 2021 will be made available on the official website of the university. The candidate are advised to download the admit card as will not be sent through post or any other method. By entering their login ID and password, the candidates can download their admit cards. This card should be kept safe as it will be required at the time of counseling too.

PU CET PG 2021 Result, Merit List & Counseling

The result of PU CET PG 2021 will be made available on the website results.puchd.ac.in. On the basis of the marks obtained, a merit list will be prepared. For some courses, the overall result will be based on entrance exam, group discussion and personal interview. For others, it will depend on the score of entrance test and qualifying exam. According to the merit list prepared, the candidate will be called for counseling. The candidates are required to visit the counseling center with their original documents.
