PGIMER Nursing 2022: Eligibility Criteria, Application Form, Dates

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh is a renowned institute for Nursing Courses. The institute offers two B.Sc. Nursing courses. One is a 4-year degree course and other is a 2-year post basic program. To select the candidates, the institute will conduct an entrance exam. This entrance exam will take place in offline mode and it will include 100 questions. Interested candidates who want to apply for PGIMER Nursing 2022 entrance exam need to submit the application form in online mode.

It is being notified that the application form for PGIMER Nursing 2022 is available from 12th April 2022. However, the authority has release the exam date sheet. The candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully before starting the application process.

PGIMER Nursing 2022

• The entrance exam will take place only in Chandigarh city.
• Only female candidates can apply for B.Sc. Nursing 4-year degree course.
• The applicants need to be medically fit for getting the admission. Authorities will conduct the medical test in order to verify the same.
• Students of B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) will get Rs. 500/- per month as a stipend.
• Hostel facility is available for only for B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) candidates.

PCIGMER Nursing 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for B.Sc. Nursing 4-year degree program and B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic).

B.Sc. Nursing (4-year degree course)

• Gender: Only female candidates can apply
• Age Limit: The applicants must be 17 to 25 years old as on 1^st September 2020 (Born after 1^st September 2003 and before 1^st September, 1995)
• Qualifying Exam: Must pass 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board of education.
• Qualifying Subjects and Marks: The candidate must have passed English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry subjects at 10+2 level with at least 50% mark in aggregate.
• Appearing Candidates: In case an aspirant is going to appear for the 10+2 or equivalent exam in April/ May 2020 then she can also apply. However, she will get the admit card only if she submits the proof for passing the qualifying exam to the principal at least 9 days prior to the date of the exam.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) 

• Gender: Both male and female candidates can apply
• Age Limit: The age of a candidate should not be more than 45 years. It means the applicants born before 1^st September 1975 are not eligible. SC/ ST/ OBC candidates will get relaxation as per the rules
• Qualifying Exam: The candidate should have passed the General nursing and midwifery (GNM) exam with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Registration: It is compulsory for an applicant to be a registered nurse and registered midwife from a recognized institute. Must be registered with respective State Nursing Council approved by INC (Substitute registration in case of male candidates).

• The application form for the PGIMER Nursing admission 2022 will release in online mode.
• The candidates who wish to apply can access the application form through the official website i.e. www.pgimer.edu.in.
• In the application form, the candidates have to enter their personal details, educational details along with the contact details.
• Please be very careful while entering the details because an incorrect or incomplete application form can result in the rejection of the candidature.
• Apart from the details, the applicants also need to upload the images of their recent passport size photograph along with a signature.
• After filling the application form, the aspirants have to pay the required fees. Otherwise, the application form may get rejected.
• For future reference, you should take a printout of the submitted application form and fee payment receipt.

Application Fee

The application fees that the candidates of different categories need to pay are as follows:

• General/OBC candidates: Rs. 1500/-
• SC/ST: Rs.1200/-
• PwD: No fees

Mode of payment

• The candidates need to submit the application fee via online payment gateways available on the official website using a debit/ credit card or internet banking.

Process of application form submission for foreign nationals

• Foreign Nationals applicants first need to fill the online application form and then take its printout.
• Then, they have to route their application along with the necessary details through the ministry of health and Family welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.
• It is necessary for foreign nationals to get eligibility certificate from Registrar – PGIMER, Chandigarh.
• Additionally, they also need a clearance regarding the professional qualification from the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.
• Make sure to submit the eligibility certificate, certificate regarding clearance from INC along with the application form.

Application Process for In-service candidate

• The in-service candidates need to take a printout of the duly filled online application and route it along with the important documents through the employer.
• The online application of such candidates will be treated only as an advanced copy.

PGIMER Nursing 2022 Exam pattern

Here is the pattern for PGIMER Nursing Entrance Test 2022:

• Mode of Examination: Offline
• Number of Questions: 100
• Type of Questions: Objective MCQs (with four options).
• Language of Exam: English
• Marks for a correct answer: 1 marks
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for a correct answer.
• Maximum Marks: 100 marks

Admit Card

• The admit card will get released only for those applicants who will submit the application fee along with fees before the last date.
• Authorities will release the admit card only in online mode approximately 15 days before the date of exam.
• In order to download the admit card, the candidates need to visit the official website and log in using their login ID and password.
• Please note that the exam authorities will not send an admit card by post to any candidate.
• The candidates will get entry to the examination center only after showing their admit card.

PGIMER Nursing 2022 Result and Merit

• After the exam, the result will be displayed at the Notice Boards of Bhargava Auditorium and website of PGIMER, Chandigarh.
• On the basis of marks scored by the candidates, the institute will prepare a merit list for the admission.
• The minimum percentile required in the written exam to qualify the PGIMER Nursing 2022 exam are as follows:
  • General Category: 50^th percentile
  • SC/ ST/ OBC and PwBD categories: 45^th

Interview and Admission

• Those candidates who will clear the PGIMER Nursing 2022 written exam 2022 need to appear for the interview.
• Candidates who will pass both written exam as well as interview will get shortlisted for admission.
• The final list of selected candidates will be displayed at the Bhargava Auditorium/ NINE of PGIMER, Chandigarh notice board.
• Selected candidates then have to report to the institute for medical examination.
• The medical examination will be taken by Medical Board constituted by the Institute.
• All the applicants should carry all the important documents at the time of admission for verification purpose.
• For the confirmation of the admission, the candidates need to pay the admission fee.
