OUAT Admission Procedure 2021

OUAT Admission Procedure 2021: OUAT 2021 selection process for UG, PG and doctoral courses will depend on various aspects. The complete details of OUAT Admission procedure 2021 are given below:

For Undergraduate courses:

Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology will organize a common entrance exam namely OUAT for admission into various UG courses including B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc.(Ag), B. Sc. (Horticulture), B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B. Tech. (Agril. Engg) and B.Sc. (Home Science) programmes:

• The admission of candidates is solely depends on Merit (Weighted marks) which is determined on the basis of candidate’s performance of academic career, Entrance Examination and Extracurricular activities.
• In case of tie in the marks, the merit will be prepared on the basis of higher marks in the Common Entrance Examination or +2 Science /equivalent qualification in that order.
• The Applicants who want admission into B.Sc. (Forestry) programme must satisfy the Physical Endurance Test to be organized one day before their particular day of the counseling of each category, failing which their application for the B.Sc. (Forestry) course admission will be rejected. In order to appear at Physical Endurance Test (PET), the applicant need to come with a certificate of Physical Fitness which is issued by the medical officer (not below the rank of CDMO) within the specified period of 30 days regarding physical capacity to go through an endurance test of brisk walking 14 km for female and 25 km for male within four hours. Moreover, applicants should posses the minimum physical criteria as follows.

Physical criteria:

1) Height (required)

• Female candidates (General and SC) = 150 cm., ST = 145 cm
• Male candidates (General and SC) = 163 cm., ST = 152 cm

2) Chest girth (required)

• Female applicants =74 cm to 79 cm (Minimum 5 cm. expansion)
• Male applicants = 79 cm to 84 cm (Minimum 5 cm. expansion)

3) Physical capacity for Fast walking in four hours:-

• Female candidates = 14 km
• Male candidates = 25 km

For Master’s and doctoral courses

The candidates will be selected for admission to various Master’s Courses and the Doctoral Programme in the College of Basic Science and Humanities, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar on the basis of following aspects:

• There will be an admission Board for the Academic Session with Dean, PG Faculty-cum-Director Resident directions as Chairman and Director, College of Basic Science & Humanities as one of the board members. In additions 3 teachers from the College of Basic Science & Humanities will be nominated by the Vice Chancellor as the members of the board. The entire admission board will examine the application forms, make the merit list and will provide the admission of the suitable applicants.
• The selection of candidate for admission into various PG Courses except M.Sc. Biotechnology, Computer Science and Microbiology will be made on the basis of entrance examination and academic marks of the applicants. For M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology, & Computer Science only career marks will be entertained.
• The final selection for admission into different PG and PhD Programme will be done the basis of merit of the applicants. The board will prepare a common Merit List for admission in to PG Programme. For PhD Programme, two separate merit lists for applicants appearing in entrance test and exempted candidates from entrance exam will be made for each Department.
