The state of Odisha has shown a tremendous grown over the years in the field of education. The state has a number of renowned engineering colleges that welcome the candidates from all over the country to provide admissions into their BTech degree course. Some of the prominent colleges include IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT Rourkela, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur, and many more. These institutes aim at providing the students top quality education and shape their future as a capable engineer.

The candidates can appear in any among the different national, state or university entrance exams conducted for Odisha BTech Admission 2021. The major exams are JEE (Main and Advanced), OJEE, SAAT, etc that shortlists the meritorious candidates for BTech admissions in Odisha. Odisha BTech Entrance Exam 2021

The candidates who desire for admission into BTech colleges of Odisha state need to qualify in any of these entrance exams:

  • JEE Main- It is a national level entrance exam by clearing which the candidates will be able to get admissions into BTech colleges of Odisha. A large number of colleges accepts the JEE Main scores to provide the candidates enrolment in 1st year of BTech degree programme. Admission into NIT, Rourkela will also be offered on the basis of JEE Main.
  • JEE Advanced- JEE Advanced is also a national level test to offer the candidates admission into IITs. The candidates who clear JEE Main exam are eligible for JEE Advanced. The admission into IIT Bhubaneswar will be offered on the basis of JEE Advanced.
  • OJEE- Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE) is a state level entrance test conducted for selecting candidates for admissions into 2nd year engineering degree course. Several institutes in Odisha, government as well as private, consider the marks of the OJEE for selecting the candidates for admissions.

How to apply for BTech Admission in Odisha?

The application form for both JEE Main and OJEE will be made available in online mode. The online application process for JEE Main first attempt has been over. The candidates can apply for JEE Main second attempt (only if needed) starting from the month of February 2021. The OJEE application form is expected to be released in the month of February 2021 and the candidates can submit it by visiting the official website www.ojee.nic.in. The candidates will have to fill the application form by providing their basic personal and academic details and uploading the scanned copies of the important documents. Care must be taken not to provide any false or incorrect information into the form as such applications are liable to rejection. While submitting the application form, the candidates will also have to pay certain amount as application fee. The candidates must make sure to submit their application form and fees on or before the last date. Applications received after the application window is closed will not be considered.

Selection Procedure

Through JEE Main

The admission into first year BTech degree programme will be offered to the candidates on the basis of their performance in JEE Main. The candidates who clear their JEE Main exam and have applied for admissions into the Odisha state will have to participate in the counseling process. A state-wise merit list of the candidates will be prepared and they will be called for counseling as per the list. The candidates will be allotted a seat during the counseling and will have to report to the allotted institute to complete admission formalities.

Note: Selection of the candidates for admissions into IIT Bhubaneswar will be done on the basis of their performance in JEE Advanced.

Through OJEE

The candidates who clear the OJEE will be offered lateral entry into the Odisha based government and private engineering colleges (except IITs and NITs). The candidates declared as pass in the entrance exam will be invited for counseling. At the time of counseling, the candidates will be allowed to provide the choice for institute for taking admissions. The final selection of the candidates will be done after their eligibility and certificates are completely verified. A seat will be allotted to the selected candidates on the basis of their choice and their ranking in OJEE.
