NLSAT 2023 application form might release in the month of January 2023. National Law School of India University (NLSIU) will conduct the National Law School Admission Test 2023. NLSAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that every candidate needs to fulfill are given below.

  • Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized national or international university with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% aggregate marks for SC/ ST category candidates).
  • Students who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree program can also apply. However, the final offer of admission will be contingent upon successful completion of their Bachelor’s degree with the minimum aggregate marks.

NLSAT 2023 Application Form

The application form for NLSAT 2023 examination will release online through the official. Those eligible candidates who want to apply need to submit the application form before the last date. Given below are the steps that you may follow in order to apply.

  • First of all, you will have to visit the official website of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU).
  • On the official website, you will have to register by entering a few of your basic details.
  • After registration, you may sign in by using the credentials generated during the registration process.
  • In the next step, you will have to fill in your complete academic, personal, and contact details in the application form as required.
  • Make sure you enter the details accurately. Otherwise, your application form can get rejected.
  • Along with the details, candidates are also required to upload the scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.
  • You should also pay the necessary application fee at the time of filling the application form.
  • Don’t forget to take a printout of the application form submitted for future requirements.

NLSAT 2023 Admit Card

  • The admission process of NLSAT 2023 consists of the following three stages.
    • Part A written test
    • Part B written test
    • Personal Interview
  • To take part in the examination, candidates need to have an admit card.
  • The admit card will release online through the official website of the university. To download the same, candidates will have to provide their registration details.
  • An admit card will carry important information related to the exam such date, time, and venue of the exam.
  • The university will not allow any candidate to enter the examination hall without an admit card.
  • Along with the admit card, it is compulsory for candidates to have a photo ID proof with them.

NLSAT 2023 Exam Pattern

As mentioned above, the written exam of NLSAT 2023 consists of two parts i.e. Part A and Part B. The details about both the parts are as follows.

Part A Exam – 1st stage of the examination process

  • Mode of examination – Offline (Pen and Paper based test)
  • Type of questions – Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Number of questions – 75 questions
  • Duration of examination – 75 minutes
  • Maximum Marks – 75 marks
  • Marking Pattern – Each question will carry 1 marks
  • Negative Marking – 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • Section – English Comprehension, Current Affairs, and Critical Reasoning

Note: Those candidates who will clear the Part A examination will be shortlisted for the Part B examination. Remember, candidates in the ratio of 1:5 will be shortlisted for Part B.

Part B Exam – 2nd stage of the examination process

  • Mode of examination – Offline (Pen and paper based test)
  • Type of questions – Short Answer Type questions and Essay type questions
  • Number of questions – 11 (10 short answer type questions and 1 essay type question)
  • Duration of examination – 75 minutes
  • Maximum Marks – 65 marks
  • Section – Legal Aptitude/ Reasoning/ and Current Affairs.

NLSAT 2023 Syllabus

The syllabus of NLSAT 2023 examination is divided into Part – A and Part – B as shown below.

  • Part – A
    • English comprehension – Synonyms, Punctuation, Subject-verb agreement, Idioms, Fill in the blanks, Spotting errors, Sentence correction, Choose the appropriate words, Parts of speech, Sentence re-arrangement
    • Current Affairs – National news, International news (International treaties, country-specific), Historical events of continuing significance, Arts and culture.
    • Critical Reasoning – Logical reasoning, Legal aptitude
  • Part B
    • Logical Aptitude/ Reasoning – This section consists of short answer based questions. There will be 10 questions of 5 marks each. There is not much requirement of legal aptitude knowledge to do questions in this section.
    • Current Affairs – This section will consist of only one essay based question. Candidates have to provide the answer in less than 500 words. Candidates will get three options. They will have to write an answer on any one option. To do well in this section, candidates should have the ability to have strong arguments about the topic.

NLSAT 2023 Interview

  • Those successful candidates who will clear the Part – B examination will be invited to take part in the Interview. After Part – B, the candidates will be selected in the ratio of 1:2.5 for the interview.

  • The interview will take place at NLS Bangalore.

  • During the interview process, aspirants will have to get their documents verified.

  • The interviewing authority will determine the legal aptitude and overall intelligence of a candidate.

NLSAT 2023 Result and Merit

  • The result will be published online through the official website after the interview.
  • Along with the result, the university will also release a merit list of candidates selected for admission.
  • Please note that the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in Part – B of the written test and Personal Interviews.
  • In the merit list, the total number of seats shall be 60 and seats will be reserved as follows.
