The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is responsible for organizing the NIFT entrance exam every year. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to UG & PG courses in the field of Fashion and Design.
Through the NIFT exam, the selected candidates will get into various NIFT participating institutes. At present, there are 18 NIFT participating institutes that offer admission to B.F.Tech, B.Des, M.Des, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses.
The entrance exam is divided into two parts i.e., written exam & situation test/personal interview. The written exam has two sub-tests namely General Ability Test (GAT), and the creative ability test (CAT). The GAT test is mandatory for all offered courses, whereas only B.Des and M.Des students need to take the CAT.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates should satisfy the important eligibility criteria as laid down by the authority. The details related to NIFT Eligibility criteria are as follows:

NIFT 2024 Application Form
The authority will release the application form most likely in November 2023. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form.
The application form will be available in online mode only. For NIFT Registration, candidates need to visit the official website link and click on the New Registration link.
Complete the registration by providing some basic details like name, contact number, email id, etc.
Once the registration is done, an applicant account will be created. Candidates need to log in to fill out the rest of the application form, including personal, contact, and academic details.
Candidates should upload the required documents in the specific format.
Applicants should make the payment of the application fee through online mode.

Candidates from the general category will have to pay Rs 3000/- as application fee while for SC/ST/PWD category the application fee will be Rs 1500/-.

NIFT Syllabus 2024
Candidates should check the syllabus completely to make an effective study plan. The syllabus for NIFT will include various topics from different sections. The written test consists of CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test). GAT is mandatory for all the candidates while for B.Des and M.Des programs candidates need to take the GAT and CAT papers.

NIFT 2024 Admit Card
It is expected that the authority will release the NIFT admit card for 2024 in January 2024. It will be available through online mode only. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter their login credentials details such as registration number and password.
The NIFT hall ticket will include details like the candidate’s name, exam date, roll number, time, and venue of the examination. It is an important document candidate must carry to the examination hall while appearing for the exam. The authority will not allow any candidate to appear in the exam without a valid admit card and photo id proof.
NIFT Answer Key 2024
The authority will release the answer keys only for the GAT paper. It is expected that the provisional answer key will be made available on NIFT official website in February 2024. It includes the correct response to all the questions asked in the GAT exam.
The candidate can compare their answers with the provisional answer key and can also calculate their estimated score in the exam. In case of an issue with the draft key, candidates will be allowed to challenge the provisional answer key within the deadline. After considering the objections of the candidates, a final answer key will be released.
NIFT Result 2024
The National Institute of Fashion Technology will announce the result in March 2024 through online mode. Candidates who appeared in the exam will be able to check the result by providing their login details such as roll number, date of birth, etc.
The scorecard of the NIFT 2024 written exam will consist of details like the section-wise and overall score, and the qualifying status. A merit list will also be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the exam. Qualified candidates will be invited for counselling process based on their merit rank.
The final result will be decided by giving weightage to CAT, GAT, and Situation Tes/ Personal Interview. Candidates are advised to keep the NIFT scorecard safe till the end of the admission process.
NIFT Counselling 2024
The process of NIFT counselling will be commenced a few days after the announcement of the result. The counselling will be held online mode. The shortlisted candidates will have to attend the counselling as per their merit rank. It will be held for the candidates who clear the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Candidates will be required to provide details like course specialization and NIFT institute at the time of counselling. The selected applicants must also bring the required documents for the verification process. The final admission will be made based on overall rank, order of preference, category of candidate, etc.
