NID Eligibility Criteria 2021

NID Eligibility Criteria 2021: National Institute of Design conducts an entrance test every year for aspirants seeking admission to its B.Des and M.Des programme. Candidates are selected based on their overall performance in studio test, design aptitude test and personal interview. If you are looking to apply for NID admission 2021 then you must aware with minimum eligibility requirement.

In this post I have shared all possible details related to NID eligibility criteria. Candidates must read this post before they apply for NID exam 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Design

In order to apply for NID exam candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

Age Criteria

According to the age norms specified by National Institute of Design, candidates’ maximum age should be at least 20 years as on or before July 1, 2021. Reserved category candidates will get relaxation of 3 years in their age.

It shows that General category candidates who are born on or before July 1, 2000 are not permitted to apply.

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PH and OBC-NCL category who are born on or before July 1, 1998 are not permitted to apply.

Educational Criteria

Candidates, who have either passed or appearing in the higher secondary examination (10+2) from any recognized board such as IB/AISSE/ICSE or its equivalent, during the academic session 2021-2022, are permitted to apply.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Des

Age Criteria

The upper age limit for candidates should be 30 years (three years relaxation for reserved category) as on or before July 1, 2021 for admission to M.Des programme.

For General Category Candidates: Who are born on or before July 1, 1991 are not permitted to apply.

For Reserved category candidates: Who are born on or before July 1, 1988, are not permitted to apply.

Educational Criteria

Candidates should have either passed or appearing in one of the following examination:

  • Graduation degree in any disciple under 10+2+4 (or more) educational system from any recognized institution or university.
  • Candidates should hold Diploma degree in Design under the 10+2+4 educational system from any recognized institution or university.

OR

  • Candidates should have either passed or appeared in Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution or university before July, 2021.
