Mysore University Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for various courses as given below.

  • M.A. Ambedkar Studies: Any degree of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto.
  • M.A. Anthropology: Any Bachelor’s degree of this University or any other University recognized equivalent. However, B.A/B.Sc graduates with Anthropology as a major/ optional subject will be given preference
  • MA Journalism and Mass Communication: Any Degree of this University or of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto except Engineering and Medicine.
  • MA Economics: B.A. with Economics as a Major/Optional Subject.
  • MA English: Those students who have optional English in B.A./B.Sc., B.A. Performing Arts/ B.A.Ed. (Regional Institute of  Education) Degree OR Postgraduate Diploma in English of the University with 50% marks for General Merit candidates and 45% for SC/ ST/ Cat-I. However, Language English students are not eligible to apply for admission or to appear for Entrance Test for M.A. English.
  • M.Sc. Botany: B.Sc. with Botany as a Major /Optional subject
  • M.Sc. Biochemistry: B.Sc. with Biochemistry/Chemistry as a Major/Optional subject.
  • M.Sc. Chemistry: B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the Major/Optional subject, provided the candidate has studied Mathematics as one of the optional subject in the Two Year P.U.C. or equivalent
  • M.Sc. Geology: B.Sc. with Geology as a Major/ Optional Subject.
  • M.LI.Sc. (Master of Lib. And Inf. Sc.): Any Bachelor’s degree of this University or of other Universities considered as equivalent thereto.
  • M.Sc. Mathematics: B.Sc. with Mathematics as Major / Optional subject. Or B.Sc.Ed. degree of Regional Institute of Education with Mathematics as a special subject.
  • M.Sc. Physics: B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics as Major/ Optional subjects or B.Sc.Ed. degree of Regional Institute of Education with Physics as a special subject.
  • M.Sc. Statistics: B.Sc. with Statistics and Mathematics as Major/ Optional subjects OR B.Sc. in Mathematics as Major with 60% of marks.
  • MBA through Karnataka Examination Authority: Any graduate or postgraduate in Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Management /Administration, Allied sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences of this university or from any other university considered equivalent there to shall be eligible for admission to the course. Further, the applicant shall have a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination. A relaxation of 5% is available for SC/ST and Cat-I candidates. Selection of candidates to the course shall be done as per rules of the University and Government of Karnataka.

The application process of the Mysore university admission 2023 will release in online mode. Those interested candidates who are eligible need to fill and submit the application form through the official website.

  • To begin the process of application candidates need to register through the official website.
  • At the time of registration, candidates have to provide their basic details like name, date of birth, phone number, email address, etc.
  • After registration, candidates must sign in using the login credentials generated at the time of registration.
  • Once logged in, aspirants must provide their complete educational personal and contact details.
  • The details entered in the application form must be accurate. Otherwise, the authorities may reject the application form.
  • Apart from the details, it is compulsory for all the candidates to upload the scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.
  • Along with the application form aspirants also need to pay the required application fees.

  • UG courses- Rs. 300/-

Mysore University Admission 2023 Selection process

  • The admission to all postgraduate degree courses will be provided based on the entrance exam to be conducted by the University.
  • Please note that the candidates have to appear and apply for the entrance examination separately.
  • There shall be a single common entrance examination for the following groups of courses.
    • Group – 1: Zoology, Applied Zoology, Botany, Bio-Technology, Microbiology, Genetics, Sericulture and Seri Biotechnology, Bio-Chemistry, Molecular Biology.
    • Group – 2: Ambedkar Studies, Co-operative Management, Development Studies, South Indian Studies, Linguistics, International Relations, Philosophy, Comparative Literature and Translation Studies, Folklore, Jainology and Prakrit, West Asian Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Women‟s Studies, Rural Development, Tribal Development, Master of Lib and Inf. Sc. (M.L.I.Sc)
    • Group – 3: M.Com and M.Com (Financial Services)
    • Group – 4: M.Sc. Chemistry/Organic Chemistry.
    • Group – 5: M.Sc./ M.A. Anthropology
  • Those candidates who are looking for admission to courses like M.B.A., M.C.A., M.Tech. (CCT) and M.Tech. (CST)  need to take the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) exam.
  • Admission to B.Arch and B.Plan will be based on the NATA score.

Admit Card

  • The university will release the admit card for only those courses in which the admissions will be provided based on the entrance test.
  • To download the admit card, candidates have to provide their registration details on the official website of the University.
  • The information about the examination schedule and venue will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to take the examination without an admit card.
  • All the candidates also need a carry valid ID proof along with the admit card at the time of the examination.

  • The result will be declared in online mode through the official website of the university.
  • To check the result, candidates have to provide their registration details on the official website.
  • The result card will contain information about the marks and rank secured by the candidates in the entrance exam.
  • Along with the result, authorities will also publish the merit list of the candidates selected for admission.
  • Those candidates who will get their names in the merit list will be shortlisted for the counselling.

Counselling

  • Only those candidates will be allowed to take part in the counselling who will get their names in the merit list.
