Eligibility Criteria

The course-wise eligibility criteria for KMC Admission 2021 are explained below:

MBBS:

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • The applicants should have passed class 12th/ A level/ IB/ American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English and a minimum 50% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology.

MD/ MS and PG Medical Diploma:

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • Pass in MBBS degree recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) is required.
  • Candidates should have obtained permanent registration with MCI/ State Medical Councils.
  • For MS and PG Medical Diploma, the candidates should additionally complete the internship before 31st March 2020.

M.Sc in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology and Pharmacology:

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • Those who have passed in B.Sc with at least one subject of Biological Sciences/ B.Sc Nursing/ B.Sc in Allied Health Sciences/ BAMS/ MBBS/ BHMS/ BPT/ B.Pharma with minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent can apply.
  • B.Sc graduates with Physics and Chemistry optional could be considered for admission to M.Sc Biochemistry program.

M.Sc Genetics Counseling

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • A pass in MBBS/ BDS/ B.Sc Nursing/ Human Genetics/ Human Biology/ Medical Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Allied Health Sciences programs with minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent is required.

M.Sc Clinical Embryology

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • Candidates need to clear B.Sc exam with Reproduction/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioscience/ Physiology as one of the subjects with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent.

M.Sc in Forensic Science

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • Those with pass in B.Sc (Criminology/ Forensic Science/ Criminology & Forensic Science/ Computer Applications/ Computer Science) or B.Sc with Physics/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Statistics or Degree in Law can apply.

M.Sc Yoga Therapy

  • Candidates of Indian nationality, foreign nationality and NRI candidates are eligible.
  • Candidates with minimum 50% marks in any science degree or its equivalent are eligible to apply.

Certificate course in Panchakarma Technician & Massage Therapist

  • Applicants with a pass in 10+2 in any stream can apply for this course.

PG Certificate Course in Panchakarma

  • Only Indian national candidates can apply.
  • The candidates should have cleared Bachelor’s Degree in Ayurveda.

Advanced Training Program in Clinical Genetics

  • Only Indian national candidates can apply.
  • An MD degree with relevant specialization in Pediatrics/ Internal Medicine/ Obstetrics and Gynecology from a college recognized by MCI is required.

Advanced Training Program in Diabetes Care

  • Only Indian national candidates can apply.
  • The applicants should hold MD or equivalent degree with relevant specialization recognized by MCI in order to be eligible.

DM

  • Only Indian national candidates can apply.
  • Pass in MD (General Medicine/ Pediatrics) degree recognized by MCI is required.

M.Ch

  • Only Indian national candidates can apply.
  • Applicants should MS degree in General Surgery from a college recognized by the MCI.
  • Permanent registration with Medical Council of India is also mandatory.

M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work

  • Only Indian national candidates can apply.
  • Candidates must have passed full time MSW (Social Work) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all the years/ semesters.

M.Phil Clinical Psychology

  • Pass in MA Psychology or M.Sc Psychology with minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent is required.

For M.Phil Nursing

  • Candidates need to pass in M.Sc Nursing from institution/ university recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC) with minimum 65% aggregate marks or equivalent.

M.Phil Stem Cell & Regenerative Biology

  • Those with a pass in M.Sc (any branch of Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Regenerative Medicine/ Clinical Embryology)/ M.Pharma/ MBBS/ M.V.Sc/ MDS/ MD/ Allied Health courses with minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent are eligible.

Application Form

The application form for KMC Admission 2021 can be filled and submitted through online mode. The interested and eligible candidates can fill the form by visiting the official website of the Manipal Institute.

  • Basic personal and educational details of the candidates will be asked in the application form.
  • The applicants are also required to upload the scanned copies of photograph and signature into the form.
  • Care should be taken to provide only true and correct details in the application form or else it might get be rejected.
  • Once all the details are submitted correctly into the application form, the candidates can submit it along with the prescribed fee.
  • It is advised to keep a printout of the application form and keep it safe in case of future reference.

Application fee:

  • For general category, application fee will be Rs. 600/- and entrance test fee will be Rs. 1400/-.
  • Foreign/ International/ NRI/ NRI Sponsored category need to submit Rs. 2500/- as application fee.

Basis of Admission

  • Admission into MBBS, MD/ MS, PG Medical Diploma, DM and M.Ch courses will be offered on the basis of candidates’ performance in the respective NEET exam.
  • Admissions for M.Sc in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology and Pharmacology are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal Entrance Test (MET).
  • For M.Sc Genetic Counseling and Clinical Embryology, admissions are done on the basis of rank in the entrance test, department test & personal interview.
  • The admissions in M.Sc Forensic Science course are given on the basis of aptitude test and personal interview. For Foreign/ NRI candidates, admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examination.
  • For M.Sc Yoga Therapy, admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. For Foreign/ NRI candidates, admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • Admission into Certificate course in Panchakarma Technician & Massage Therapist is given twice a year in January and July on first come first serve basis.
  • Admission into PG Certificate Course in Panchakarma is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and interview.
  • Departmental test and personal interview will be conducted for admission into Advanced Training Program in Clinical Genetics.
  • Admissions in Advanced Training Program in Diabetes Care are done on the basis of departmental test and personal interview.
  • Department test and personal interview are held for admission into M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work and M.Phil Nursing.
  • Admission into M.Phil Clinical Psychology will be offered based on entrance test, department test, subject interview and university interview.
  • Merit in department test & qualifying exam marks will be considered for admission in M.Phil Stem Cell & Regenerative Biology.

  • Result of the MET 2021 for M.Sc courses will be announced on the official website of the institute.
  • Qualified candidates will have to appear for the department test, interview, etc as applicable.
  • Final admission will be given to the candidates on the basis of their combined performance in different tests.
  • For courses for which admissions are offered on the basis of NEET, selection will be done through centralized common counseling conducted by DGHS.
