About Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS)
Founded in 2010 by Government of Kerala, the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) institute is dedicated to studies in fisheries and ocean sciences. It is India’s first fisheries university. With headquarter based in premises of the College of Fisheries, Panangad, near Kochi, KUFOS is a self-governing public-funded institution. KUFOS is the first University in India exclusively dedicated to studies in fisheries and allied disciplines. The university is started with a major objective to serve as a flagship University of higher learning through established and growing distinction in teaching, extension, research, scholarship and innovative work in fisheries and ocean studies, equivalent with global standards that will promote the country and the world at large. The campus area of the university is spread over 69 acres of land and it is nearby to the Ernakulam South Railway Station just at distance of 12 kilometers. The KUFOS claims of a high-quality staff that is completely dedicated to imparting the best of knowledge to the students.

Courses and their eligibility criteria offered by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies
- Master of Business Administration (two years)
Candidate should hold Graduation and a bachelor’s degree in any stream got through the 10+2+3 system or a correspondent qualification with at least of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities integrated by an act of the central or state government in India. 45% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Bachelor of Science (4 years)
Candidate must be passed 10+2 with qualifying marks.
- Master of Science – two years (3 courses)
Candidate should have done graduation in relevant stream.
- Doctor of Philosophy in Science- two years
