About the University

Established in May, 2004, Junagadh Agricultural University is an agricultural university based in Junagadh, Gujarat. The university offers education in agriculture and associated sciences, i.e., agricultural engineering, agriculture, and fisheries. It is one among top 10 universities across India for biological research. The academics in the university comprise of four faculties: agricultural engineering, fisheries, agriculture, and postgraduate studies. The graduate courses have an intake capability of 75 in agriculture, 30 in fisheries faculty, and about 70 in agricultural engineering. The post graduate courses are also provided in agriculture and agricultural engineering as per the intake capacity of the different faculties. The university has 7 multidisciplinary Main Research Stations; 11 sub-Research Stations/ hybrids of crops/Testing Centers for the development of new varieties/vegetables and fruits; and 5 Main Research Stations for various crops.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be graduate degree holder and have completed bachelor’s degree in any stream got through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with at least aggregate of 50% or equal CGPA of any of the Universities integrated by an act of the central or state government in India. For SC/ST category candidates there is relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

 Admission scheme

Applicant who has cleared four year Bachelor\’s Degree Examination or its correspondent in faculty of agriculture or associated subjects from recognized statutory/deemed university with at least of 60% marks (OGPA 6.00/10.00) for general category applicants and 55% (OGPA 5.50/10.00) for SC/ST/SEBC applicants will be eligible for admission for MBA course in Agri-Business, matter to satisfying further entrance criteria arranged from time to time.

• Engineering Program

B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering – four years

Applicant must be passed 10+2 or Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biotechnology, Language and any other subject. Candidates must have scored at least of 45% marks. For reserved category candidates there is relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering- two years

Applicant must have done graduation and hold bachelors degree in Science or Engineering stream got through the 10+2+4 system or an equivalent examination with at least aggregate of 55% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities integrated by an act of the central or state government in India. For reserved category candidates there is relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

• Science Program

Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc) – four years

Applicant must be done (10+2) or have completed High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any correspondent exam hosted by any State Board or Equivalent examination. Candidate must have secured at least of 50% Aggregate marks with English as a necessary subject. 45% for candidates belonging to reserved category.

Master of Fisheries Science (MFSC) – two years

Applicants should be a graduation degree holder and have done bachelor’s degree in science or any equivalent examination with at least of 50% Aggregate with English as a subject. For reserved category candidates there is relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

M.Phil/Ph.D- two years

Applicant must be Post Graduated and have done equivalent qualification.

• Veterinary Sciences Program

BVSc & A.H – Five years

Applicant must be cleared (10+2) or have completed High School Senior Secondary examination by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board or any equivalent examination hosted by any State Board or Equivalent. Applicant must have attained at least 50% Aggregate marks with English as an important subject. For reserved category candidates there is relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

MVSc – two years

Applicant must be graduation degree holder and have done equivalent qualification.

1. B.Sc (Honors) in Agriculture – three years
2. B.Sc (Honors) in Horticulture – three years
