Jawaharlal Nehru University will be inviting applications from eligible candidates for Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE) for the upcoming academic session. JNUEE is a university level entrance exam conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi for providing admission to its undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D courses. This exam is organized once in a year.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should satisfy prescribed eligibility criteria before applying for JNU Admission. The JNUEE eligibility criteria for various courses are listed below:

Courses Eligibility Criteria
MPhil/PhD Candidates, those are seeking admission to M.Phil/Ph.D programme, should have completed their master’s degree with minimum of 50% marks in the related language/subject.
Master in Arts (MA) Candidates, who want to apply for MA Admission, should have passed their bachelor’s degree in any stream/branch under 10+2+3 pattern of education with minimum of 50% marks.
B.A. (Hons.) 2nd year Applicants, who want to apply for the B.A. (Hons.) 2nd year, must have to be passed first year of bachelor’s degree or an equivalent examination
B.A. (Hons.)1st year Candidates, who want to apply for the B.A. (Hons.) 1st year, should have done senior school certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination.

Application Form

Application form for JUNEE will be available in both online as well as offline mode. The JNU Application Form can be downloaded from the official website of university in the month of February tentatively.

Applicants will be allowed to apply for a maximum of three courses for the same level of programmes through single application form. Candidates are recommended to get ready with their scanned documents of photograph and signature before the final submission of online application form.

They need to upload their recent scanned colored photograph and signature in the prescribed format. After submitting the duly filled in application form, candidates should take the print out of the application form and keep it with them for further reference.

JNU Admisson Application Fee

The payment of application fee will be made through online as well as offline mode. The fee can be paid through credit/ debit card or e-Challan from any branch of State Bank of India.

Examination Pattern

The JNU Entrance Exam examination pattern for various programmes will be different from each other. The major highlights of exam pattern include the total number of questions, total marks and marking scheme, exam duration. The entrance test will consist of Multiple Choice questions. The examination pattern for various programmes is given as below:

  • PhD Program

The PhD entrance exam for candidates appearing for JNU is organized to test the awareness of an applicant in the particular specialized field of his/her choice. The question paper will comprise analytical and critical appraisal type questions.

  • M.Sc Course

Interested candidates have to go through the topics of physical chemistry, physics and mathematics of B.Sc standard. The test will contain objective type questions.

  • MCA Programme

The question paper will comprise of objective types questions and will cover the subject of Computer application and information technology.

  • M.Tech Programme

The written test will comprise of multiple choice type questions. There will be two sections in the exam. The first section will include questions from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology and the second section will include questions in following specialization of Biology and Bioinformatics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics/ Mathematics, Engineering Sciences.

  • M.A. Programme

Applicants will be examined in the subjects and specialization in the B.A level course.

  • BA (Honors)Programme

This general aptitude paper will contain objective type questions and short answers.  The written entrance test for BA (Honors) Foreign Languages will comprise sections of General English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Knowledge.

JNU Admission 2017 Admit Card

The JNU Entrance Exam Admit Card will be available to download for those who have done successful registration. Such candidates can download their admit card from the official site of conducting body by entering their registration number and Date of Birth. The JNUEE Admit Card will be released probably on the first week of May. The candidates have to bring their valid admit card to the examination centre with a copy of latest passport size photograph.

JNUEE Result

Candidates, who successfully appeared in the JNU entrance exam, can check their result online in the last week of June (tentatively). The conducting body will announce the JNUEE result at its the official website.

After the result declaration, the authority will invite the selected applicants for the Viva-Voce. Candidate will be selected through the written test. The list of selected candidates will be published on the official site possibly in the third week of July and they will also get informed via email.

Merit List

A separate merit list will be prepared as per the courses after the announcement of result and viva – voce. On the basis of merit list, the applicant will be invited for the admission process. There will be no counseling process.

Selection Criteria

The selection process for JNU Admission will be commenced from the month of July (tentative). Applicants can register themselves based on their prescribed course on different dates. Candidates will have to pay an admission fee of Rs. 5000/- (Rs. 2500/- in case of SC/ST/PH candidates) in the form of DD in order to confirm their seats.
