JEE Main & NEET Are Supposed to be Conducted Twice in a Year

The updated report of NTA says that the Union Minister of State is involved in setting up the National Testing Agency responsible for conducting the JEE Main and NEET twice in a year. JEE Main is conducted for B.Tech and B.Arch admissions, whereas, NEET is conducted for MBBS/BDS admissions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already discussed regarding establishing a National Testing Agency during Union budget 2017. The agency will be responsible for conducting NEET, JEE Main, CTET, NET and Jawahar Navodya Vidyalas entrance tests which are presently conducted by CBSE from 2019 onwards. The decision is being taken just to reduce the burden of CBSE in terms of conducting various national level tests.

Excluding class 10th and 12th exams, CBSE is responsible to conduct five other entrance tests including JEE, CTET, NEET, UGC NET and entrance test for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. The National Testing Agency is planning to conduct these exams at least twice in a year so that students would get added opportunities for exploring their career.
