Founded in the year 1889, the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is one of India’s premier advance research facilities in the field of veterinary and allied Sciences based at Izztnagar, Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. Presently, the administrative control of the Institute is under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. IVRI is devoted to livestock research and development of the area. The institute was set up to impart quality post-graduate education to students not only from different parts of the nation, but also from abroad. Now, the University with its deemed to be university status participates enormously to human resource development in the stream of veterinary sciences with abilities and knowledge compulsory for the challenges of the new millennium.

Courses and eligibility criteria offered by Indian Veterinary Research Institute

  • Master of Veterinary Science – two years (21 courses)

The candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science in the related stream as prescribed by the Veterinary Council of India with at least of 60% marks in aggregate (55% for candidates from SC/ST or sponsored categories) or equivalent.

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Veterinary Science) – three courses (13 courses)

Applicant must have cleared B.V.Sc & AH with Master’s degree in related discipline.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Science (three years)
