IGNOU School of Social Sciences (SOSS): The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), which is located in New Delhi, is one of the leading universities in India which offers educational programmes through open and distance learning platform. The university was instituted in 1985 in the name of Smt. Indira Gandhi who was the first lady prime minister of India. The university has more than thousands of programmes to offer to the eligible candidates from all across the nation. IGNOU’s all academic and financial processes and events are monitored and regulated by the Human resource and development ministry, Government of India.

IGNOU’s School of Social Sciences (SOSS) has been setup to offer various academic programmes in eight disciplines such as History, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Library and Information Science,Public Administration, Economics, Political Science, and Gandhi and Peace Studies. All the programmes offered by the university in different disciplines relate to fundamental subject areas but at the same time include disciplines, in order to expand the image for academic excellence. The School also focuses on the expansion of programmes and the allied courses to bring the socio-economic and political perspectives into the academic frame.
