Located in lower Himalayan zone of Garhwal at an elevation of 1430 meters, Government Post Graduate College is a well known educational institution. It is situated in the center of Gopeshwar town which is spread across the south east facing valley slop on the right sided bank of Alaknanda River. The college was started in the year 1966 with the basic motive to extend the quality level higher education to the common and poor people of this hilly area.
