About Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth

Started in 1969, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) is a foremost agriculture university based in Maharashtra. The university was named after Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh who was one of the most celebrated Indian ministers for agriculture and who has made some extraordinary hand-outs in this field. There are 14 private non-grant-in-aid colleges and 2 affiliated grant-in-aid colleges under the PDKV. The University was set up with having a strong emphasis on agricultural education, research and expansion education along with breeder and establishment seed program. The PDKV provides four degree programs namely B.Sc. (Hort.), B.Sc. (Agri.), B.Sc. (Forestry) and B.Tech. In the departments of Agriculture Engineering and Agriculture two Master’s Degree Programs i.e. M.Sc. (Agri.) and M.Tech (Agri-Engg) and Phd Degree Programs are offered.
