Candidates may choose the subject of the entrance in which they have acquired a Master’s degree or the allied subject they are willing to get admission into.

General Instructions

  • Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore invites online applications from the prospective applicants for DAVVDET-2023. The admission to Ph.D. shall be governed by Ordinance 11 and UGC Regulation 2009 and its subsequent amendments.
  • Applicants are advised to apply only if he/she fulfils the eligibility requirements. The onus of checking appropriate eligibility lies with the candidate.
  • Applicants must read and understand details given in the information brochure before filling the online application form.
  • No written communication regarding DAVVDET-2023 shall be provided. Applicants are advised to visit university website regularly for updates.
  • Ph.D. Entrance test (DAVVDET-2023) comprises of two parts :
    • Entrance Examination.
    • Interview by research advisory committee.

    All successful candidates in Entrance Examination shall have to appear for Interview (RAC). Candidates shall be admitted to Ph.D. programme only after RAC approves their candidature.

  • Eligibility: An applicant for DAVVDET-2023, must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled persons and other categories as per the decision of the UGC from time to time or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991) from a university, a deemed university or other university incorporated by any law for the time being in force and recognized by the DAVV. The applicants appearing in the final semester / year examination may also apply but they have to submit their final result before submission of application for registration in Ph.D.
  • Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-non-creamy layer/EWS applicants is as per existing rules. This benefit of reservation will be offered to MP domicile applicants only.
  • Exemption from appearing at Entrance Examination of DAVVDET-2023: The candidates who have valid JRF awarded through UGC-NET or CSIR-NET; teacher fellowship for research awarded by UGC/AICTE; any other Government / Foreign research fellowship; M.Phil. degree (as per UGC Regulations 2009 or amended thereafter) with course work shall be exempted from appearing at Entrance Examination (5(i)). However, they have to appear in the interview (RAC). It is mandatory for all candidates (including the candidates who are exempted from Entrance Examination) to fill the online application form by due date(s).

DAVV DET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The major eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Candidates must have acquired a M.Phil/PhD degree or its equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with securing minimum 55% marks. This criterion is 50% for candidates of OBC(non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/differently-Abled/those had obtained a Master’s degree before 19th Sep, 1991.
  • The authority has not intimated an age limit for getting admission into M.Phil and PhD programmes.

DAVV DET 2023 Application Form

Candidates, who are willing to get admission into PhD programme they need to apply through the official website https://www.dauniv.ac.in/det2023. Candidates have to appear for an entrance test followed by an interview to get admitted into MPhil and PhD programme through DET.

Instructions to Apply

Please follow the instructions to apply for DAVV DET as provided below in the post:

  • You need to visit the official website of DAVV DET or directly click the link provided in the post.
  • Now go to the website and click MPhil/PhD admission 2023 followed by apply for MPhil/PhD admission.
  • The application form would be displayed on the screen.
  • Fill up the details such as your name, email ID, mobile number, address etc.
  • Submit the duly filled application along with the prescribed application fee.

Application Fee: The application fee (Non-refundable) is Rs. 1,000/-.

Candidates are eligible to make payment of application fee using MPOnline authorized KIOSK in MP or using credit card/debit card/net banking. They will be provided admission into MPhil and PhD programme through Doctoral Entrance Test (DET) followed by an interview.

DAVV DET 2023 Exam Pattern

Here is the prescribed DAVV DET 2023 exam pattern:

No. of Questions: The question paper of entrance examination shall have two parts: PartA and Part B. Each part shall consist of 50 MCQs of 1 mark each. You can check detailed syllabus.

Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in the exam.

The candidates must score minimum 50% marks [(45% for SC/ST/OBC (NonCreamy layers/differently abled category] marks in the entrance exam to qualify for the interview. A list of the candidates eligible for interview will be notified on the university website.

Interview: All the applicants who have qualified the entrance examination (including those who were exempted from the entrance examination) shall have to appear in the interview for admission in Ph.D. The interview shall be conducted by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the concerned subject. The date of interview in each subject will be notified on the website of the University.

DAVV CET 2023 Admit Card

Applicants can download their Admit card from MPonline a week prior to commencement of Entrance Examination. We’ll also provide here the direct link to download your admit card.

The Entrance Examination date will be announced soon.The duration of entrance examination shall be of two hours.

Applicant is required to report in person for entrance examination and interview on given date and time. Nonappearance, for any reason, shall automatically disqualify the candidature for admission to Ph.D.

DAVV DET 2023 Result

DAVV DET 2023 result will be announced at the official website of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya.  The evaluation in interview will be based on 100 marks to be allocated in the following criteria, each of 25 marks.

  • Research plan
  • Research potential/ aptitude
  • Communication skills
  • Subject knowledge in the respective area of research.

The final merit list shall be prepared giving 70% and 30% weightage to marks obtained in entrance examination and interview, respectively and be notified on the University website.
