About Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg
The Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT) is one of the esteemed institutes of Chhattisgarh. Established in 1986, BIT is the first self-financed institute of India started with four undergraduate engineering disciplines and 180 seating capacity. The college is affiliated to the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University and approved by the AICTE. BIT is accredited by the ISO 9001:2008 certification.
Campus
The campus of BIT, Durg is located on the national highway 6 at the doorsill of the Durg city in Chhattisgarh state. The campus sprawled over in 62 Hectare of land and sited in Bhilai House opposite of Circuit House. The location of institute is easily accessible through local transport to the every part of the city. It has convenient connectivity with Durg Bus Depot and Railway Station.
Courses
The college offers seven undergraduate and three postgraduate courses in the field of engineering and technology. In addition, the campus also caters the research programmes in engineering and technology. Currently BIT Durg is boasting approx 800 students from all departments.
Facilities at Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg
The campus has good state of art infrastructure which is embraced in 5 blocks as administrative and departmental blocks. It has an auditorium, well organized labs and ventilated workshop, open air theatre, computer lab for each department, a central computer centre, central library having more than 27000 books, and sports complex including basketball court and cricket ground.
Placement cell
The BIT Durg has an active training & placement cell headed by skilled and experienced staff which helps in offering the final placement to the candidates. The Training and Placement cell also handles and organizes the career planning and development, industrial training, personality development, interview preparation and communication skills development activities.
