CENTAC PG 2022: Application Form, Dates, Eligibility Criteria

CENTAC PG 2022: Centralised Admission Committee for Post graduate admission

CENTAC PG 2022: Applications will be invited for admission to first year M.Tech, MCA, MPhil, M.Sc and MBA programmes offered by Pondicherry Engineering College and the Government quota seats in self-financing Colleges in Puducherry for the academic session 2017. Interested and eligible candidates can apply as per prescribed schedule.

Courses offered

• M.Tech Programme:  (Energy Technology, Structural Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Drives and Control, Distributed Computing System, Information Security, Environmental Engineering)
• M.Phil (Physics) – Material Science
• M.Sc (Physics) – Material Science and Technology
• Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Eligibility Criteria for CENTAC PG 2022

For M.Tech Programmes

Candidates having B.E/B.Tech degree in related discipline or equivalent examination with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA, through regular mode of study from an AICTE approved institution/an examination of any University or Authority acknowledged by the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto are eligible to apply.

For M.Sc (Material Science and Technology)

Candidates having Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics as major subject and Chemistry and Mathematics as additional

OR

Candidates holding Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Chemistry as major subject and Physics and Mathematics as additional

OR

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Science – Applied Science

OR

B.Sc. Ceramics Technology

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as major subjects

OR

B.Sc. Electronics Science with Physics and Mathematics as additional

OR

B.Sc. Polymer Technology with scoring at least of 55% marks in major and minor subjects or equivalent CGPA can apply.

For M.Phil (Material Science)

Candidates having M.Sc Physics / M.Sc (Materials Science & Technology) with at least of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA are eligible to apply for admission.

For MCA

Candidates having bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications / Information Technology/ Computer Science/ or Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Secretary-ship / Commerce / Economics/ / Business Mathematics /Business Administration with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications as one of the subjects or Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category).

For MBA

Candidate having Bachelors’ degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) can apply for MBA Admission.

Age Limit

There is no age limit for admission to M. Tech., M.Phil, M.Sc., MCA and MBA courses.

Application Form: How to apply

Candidates can download the CENTAC PG application form for admission along with information Bulletin from the official website i.e. www.pec.edu. Candidates should fill the application form completely and accurately. The hardcopy of the downloaded application form, duly filled-in, will be sent by post/courier or can be submitted in person to:

The Convenor, CENTAC–PG, Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry – 605 014, along with two self-addressed stamped envelopes and a crossed demand draft for Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST category), drawn in favour of “The Convenor, CENTAC-PG, payable at Puducherry”. Payment through cheques, money orders and postal orders will not be entertained.

Applicants who have already appeared in the final semester/year of the qualifying examination and awaiting the result of qualifying examination can also apply and appear for the entrance examination. Though, they have to create all the original certificate of mark sheets for all semesters / years along with the provisional certificate, at the time of counselling, failing in which, they will not be permitted to appear in the counselling.

Applicants seeking admission to more than one course, have to submit separate application fom for each course. Only attested copies of the necessary documents/certificates need to be enclosed along with the application form. Candidates need to produce all the original certificates/documents for verification at the time of counseling.

Selection Process

For M.Tech Admission:

Selection to M.Tech courses will be done only on the GATE score. If seats do not fill completely by GATE candidates, the vacant seats will be filled by the Non-GATE applicants based on the performance in an Entrance Test to be organized by the CENTAC PG.

MCA admission

The selection of candidates for admission to MCA courses will be done through Merit List in CET 2017 prepared by CENTAC-MCA

M.Phil and M.Sc. Admission

Selection to M.Phil and M.Sc courses will be done on the basis of candidate performance in the Entrance Test to be organized by the CENTAC-PG

MBA

The selection of candidates for admission to MBA courses will be done on the basis of Merit List in MBA-ET-2017 determined by CENTAC-MBA.
