UCEED 2023: Application Form (Releasing on 5 October), Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED 2023) will be conducted by the IIT Bombay for admission into the B.Des programme offered by the IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and ITTDM Jabalpur. Interested candidates can apply for the same through the official website of the UCEED. Candidate interested in pursuing UG course in Design from the mentioned IITs must satisfy the eligibility criteria as specified by the authority.

It is important for every aspirant to know every major detail on the UCEED exam before he/she proceed to the application part. Here students must know that mere cracking the exam doesn’t guarantee the admission into B.Des program. For that, they’ll have to apply to the institutes individually. Eligibility Criteria for UCEED 2023

A candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria to appear for the UCEED 2023 Examination-

  • Age Limit: A candidate should have been born on or after October 1st 1995 (for Open or OBC-NCL candidates) and October 1st 1990 (for SC/ST/PWD).
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates can attempt the UCEED Examination at most 2 times in consecutive years.
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates should have passed class 12th or its equivalent in 2019 or appearing in 2020 with any stream (science, commerce and humanities) from a recognized board.

UCEED 2023 Application Form

To apply for the UCEED 2023 examination, candidates must register themselves on its online portal. They need to provide the basic registration details such as name, gender, Email ID, mobile number, and educational details. The registration form must be filled carefully and on time. Candidates who fill the registration form late will need to pay a late fee of Rs 500/-. Candidates should keep the scanned documents (photograph & signature) ready while entering the details on the registration form.  They also need to pay a required sum as registration fee/application fee for the exam. The applications of the candidates who will submit the form without the stated fee will be considered invalid and rejected.

Registration Fee

Women/SC/ST candidates should pay the registration fee of Rs. 1180/- whereas other candidates need to pay Rs. 2360/-. A late fee of Rs. 500/- will be applicable for the candidates who fail to register for the exam within the given time.

Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay the registration fee through credit card/debit card/net banking.

UCEED 2023 Exam Pattern

Given below is the UCEED Exam Pattern-

  • Exam Mode: Online (Computer based)
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Language: English
  • Marking Scheme:

Section A: +4 marks will be given for each right answer

Section B: +4 marks will be given for all correct response

Section c: +3 marks will be awarded for every right answer

  • Negative Marking:

Section A: Not applicable, 0 marks will be given for incorrect answer.

Section B: Incorrect answer will fetch 0 marks.

Section C: 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

UCEED 2023 Syllabus

Candidates can take a look at the syllabus given below for the UCEED 2023 Examination-

  • Visualization & Spatial Ability: Understanding of transformation and/or manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships, Pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test, knowledge of practical and everyday mechanical and scientific concepts.
  • Observation & Design Sensitivity: Applying attention to details, analyzing, reasoning, classifying, inferring and predicting, Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcomes etc.
  • Environment & Social Awareness: Awareness of social and cultural connection with design, history of the designed artifact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses, General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources etc.
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning:, Ability to check for hidden bias or hidden assumptions and whether evidence and argument support conclusions, Ability to look at information, be it qualitative or quantitative in nature, and discern patterns within the information, Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria Ability to use logic and structured thinking to deduce from a short passage etc.
  • Language & Creativity: Ability to understand and use Standard English, Reading comprehension, knowledge of English grammar such as sentence structure and usage, the use of tenses, verb patterns, articles, and active and passive constructions etc., and vocabulary skills etc.
  • Design Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to use visual analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols. Ability to understand complexity, identify problem, generate alternatives, evaluate options and select solutions.

Preparation Tips for UCEED 2023

Given below are some tips through which candidates can score well in the exam-

  • Practice sketching every day. Try to draw the things you see in your surroundings.
  • Pay attention to the details and design of every object you come across.
  • Take the help from the Internet, Newspapers, and Magazines.
  • Use quality pencils and other stationery materials while practicing.
  • Solve previous year paper to get an idea of the exam and manage time effectively.
  • Polish your General Awareness through G.K books, Current Affairs etc.
  • Avoid using the Eraser too much for redrawing.
  • Stick to the syllabus.

UCEED 2023 Admit Card

Candidates can download their admit card for the UCEED Examination through its official website i.e. www.uceed.iitb.ac.in. The admit card will contain details such as – Name, Registration ID, Roll Number, Photograph, Signature, Exam schedule, Exam Centre, and instructions. Candidates should check these details and in case of discrepancy, the situation must be communicated to the authority without further delay. In such case, candidates can contact the Chairman (JEE Advanced), UCEED & CEED 2023 before the time stipulated mentioned in the article. Candidates need to produce the printed copy of the hall ticket to the exam hall. Failing to produce the admit card, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Result

The authority has announced the UCEED 2023 Result now. Candidates can check their scores from the official website i.e. www.uceed.iitb.ac.in. In order to see the results, candidates need to login using the registration details. Candidates can download their score card from the same. The authority will not send the hard copy of the score card to the candidates by post or any other means what so ever.
