The university offers PG courses in the following schools.

• The School of Historical Studies
• The School of Ecology and Environment Studies
• The School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religions

Eligibility Criteria for Nalanda University Admission 2021

For admission to PG courses at Nalanda University Bihar for academic session 2021-2022, the candidate must fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions. The details of Nalanda University Eligibility Criteria 2021 are listed below:

• Candidate should hold a minimum of 3 years Bachelor’s degree in (10+2+3) system. They must be passed the Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks from any Indian University recognized by AICTE/ UGC.
• Indian candidates should have completed their undergraduate education in English as the medium of examination. A valid certificate to this effect is also required.
• Candidates, who completed graduation from non-Indian universities, should possess the scores of one of the accepted English Language tests (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, STEP, PTE).

Application Form

The whole application process for admissions of candidates to PG courses at Nalanda University is online only. Duly filled in applications that are completed in all respects will be evaluated only. Applicants are needed to pay Rs 600 (for Indian candidates) and $ 10 (for foreign nationals) as applicable application fees while filling up the Nalanda University Application Form.

The incomplete applications such as forms without correct academic and professional references from the referees will not be considered at any circumstances.

The Nalanda University will follow Rolling Admissions system by evaluating the applications as they reach. The seats will be limited and allotted on the first come, first serve basis. So candidates are advised to send their applications on early basis in order to get a seat in the school of their choice along with financial support from the university.

Admission Process

The selection of candidates is a two-tier process. Admission will depend upon the following factors:

Screening and short – listing of online Application Forms:

The first round of short-listing based on candidate’s eligibility, qualification performance, and wholeness of the Application form. The Final process of short-listing based on qualitative phases including SoP, written work, referee’s recommendation etc.

Personal Interview by the Candidate

The shortlisted candidates of the first tier will further invited to appear in the second round i.e. personal interview. The final selection from interview round will be based on some parameters like candidate’s communication skills, general awareness, confidence level, and area of interest etc.
