AIIMS PG Counselling 2021 (January Session): Dates and Procedure

AIIMS PG Counselling 2021 will be conducted as per the merit list of the qualified candidates. For the January session, the counseling will be held in the month of December and for the July session, it will be held in the month of May. In case any seats remain vacant after the mock round of counseling, spot counseling will be done. Spot counseling will only be done by the respective AIIMS. Before appearing for the AIIMS PG Counselling 2021, the selected candidates are advised to download their counseling call letter from the AIIMS, New Delhi website aiimsexams.org.

AIIMS PG Counselling Process

The number of candidates invited to participate in the AIIMS PG Counselling 2021 will be 8 times the total number of available seats. The counseling will be done strictly according to the combined merit list starting from the candidate with rank 1.

A reserved category candidate will also be called according to his/ her combined merit list. However, such candidate will be given an option to exercise his/ her choice of subject both in unreserved category and his/ her concerned reserved category. If a reserved candidate gets a seat from the unreserved category, he/ she will be treated as unreserved candidate and will consume an unreserved seat.

However, if the seat opted by the candidate is allotted form the reserved category, he/ she will be considered as a reserved candidate.

When all the seats of unreserved category are finished then only counseling for reserved category will be conducted.

If the seats reserved for OBC candidates remain vacant, then these seats will be made available to the general category candidates. Similarly, if any SC/ ST reserved seats remain vacant, they will also be made available for the general category candidates.

Documents to be presented at the time of AIIMS PG Counselling 2021

The candidates must present the following documents in original and in attested photocopies at the time of counseling:

  • Offer Letter
  • Registration Slip
  • Admit Card issued by the AIIMS
  • Mark Sheets of MBBS/ BDS 1st, 2nd and 3rd Professional Examinations
  • MBBS / BDS Degree Certificate
  • Internship Completion Certificate or Certificate from the Head of Institution/ College that the candidate will be completing the internship by 30th January, 2021 (for January session) and by 30th July, 2021 (for July session)
  • Permanent/ Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI or DCI or State Medical/ Dental Council
  • High School/ Higher Secondary Certificate/ Birth Certificate as a proof of date of birth
  • Requisite undertaking that the candidate has not already done or pursuing MD/ MS/ MDS course in any subject at the time of counseling

The candidate should also bring the following certificates, as per the applicability:

  • SC/ ST Certificate issued by the competent authority in English or Hindi language. The community should also be clearly mentioned in the certificate. The candidate will also be required to submit an undertaking to the effect of his/ her caste.
  • OBC Certificate (only for Non Creamy Layer candidates) issued by the competent authority for central Government jobs/ admission in Central Government College/ Institute. The sub-caste of the candidate should match with the Central List of OBC. OBC certificate must be in the prescribed Central Government format and should be more than one year old at the time of counseling. Undertaking from the candidate will also be required.
  • Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board.
  • The candidates who fail to submit their category certificate will be considered as a General/ Unreserved candidate.

The original documents will be returned to the candidate after scrutiny and the photocopies will be submitted. Those who fail to submit the documents will not be allowed to participate in subsequent stages of selection/ admission process.

Also, the candidates must submit these certificates by themselves. A certificate from any other person/ authority will not be accepted and no further correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
