SBI PO Syllabus : Preliminary and Main

Syllabus for the SBI PO Preliminary Exam

The very first stage of the SBI PO exam is the preliminary exam and all the candidates when clear this stage of the examination they will be provided the opportunity to appear in the next stage of the examination.

There are three subjects in the pre-exam which will be asked form the candidates in the question paper, viz., English language, Reasoning, and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude.

The second stage of the SBI PO exam is the Main examination and candidates will be basked from five different topics in the question paper, viz., General English, Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning ability, Data Interpretation and Analysis, General Economy and Banking Awareness.

  1. Reasoning ability-

Questions in this category will be asked form the topics as Syllogism, Puzzle, Blood Relation, Seating Arrangement (Circular table and Line (North & South), Logical Reasoning, Input and Output, Inequality or Decision Making, Statement and Argument, Passage and conclusion, Coding and decoding, Data Sufficiency, Order and ranking, Making Judgments.

  1. Quantitative Aptitude

Coding-Decoding, Deriving Conclusions from Passages, Arithmetical Reasoning, Inserting the Missing Character, Statement – Conclusions Number, Ranking & Time Sequence, Logic, Series Completion, Logical Venn Diagrams, Clocks & Calendars, Statement – Arguments, Mathematical Operations, Alphabet Test, Logical Sequence of Words, Eligibility Test, Alpha Numeric Sequence Puzzle, Direction Sense Test, Data Sufficiency, Theme Detection, Situation Reaction Test, Analogy,

News related to Reserve Bank of India, Banking Awareness, Financial Awareness (Union Budget/ Railway Budget),Economics news, Current Affairs – Questions can be asked from various fields such as: National, International, Awards, Sports, Defense, Summits, Appointment, Books & Authors and Obituary etc, Basics of Marketing, Marketing Strategies, Market Segmentation, Marketing Management, Marketing Mix, Developing stage of organization, Brand, Advertising, Products Life Cycle, 4 P’s and 4 C’s of marketing Basic of Computer, Hardware and software, Operating system, MS Word and MS Excel, PowerPoint Generation of Computer, The internet, Abbreviations.

Syllabus for SBI PO Descriptive test 

  • Candidates will be given topics for letter writing, paragraph writing, Candidates will find the topics to write an essay as well in this descriptive test.
  • Paragraph writing will be related to the bank functioning and economy and format of the letter which candidates will be given to write will be of the official type for purpose of daily bank functioning.
