SBI Clerk Selection Procedure 2022

The Selection process of SBI Clerk will comprise online entrance examination (Preliminary and Mains Examination) followed by the test of official and/or local language, and interview.

Candidates, who want to get enroll for the post of Junior Associates and Junior Agricultural Associates, will have to qualify the SBI Clerk online exam (both Preliminary and Mains Examinations) with the prescribed cut off marks.

Aspirants qualifying the Preliminary Exam of SBI Clerk recruitment will be considered eligible for the Mains Examination. Those successfully cleared the Mains Examination will be further invited for the test of official or local language. The final selection of the candidate will be based on the marks obtained by the applicants in the Mains Examination.

The State bank of India will send the call letter of appointment to those selected candidates who ranked high in the merit list.

Description of different phases involved in the SBI Clerk selection procedure

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

The candidates applying for the post of Junior Associates and Junior Agricultural Associates will have to first appear for the computer-based preliminary examination of SBI clerk recruitment 2022. The test will contain objective type questions for 100 marks. The questions will be asked from three sections namely Reasoning Ability, English Language, and Numerical ability. The duration of exam will be one hour. Applicants will have to qualify in each of the three tests with scoring minimum qualifying marks to be fixed by the Bank.

Phase 2: Mains Examination:

Candidates qualifying the preliminary examination successfully are required to appear in the mains examination. The mains examination of SBI Clerk recruitment 2022 will be organized for 200 marks with time duration of 2 hours 40 minutes.

The structure of SBI Clerk main examination would be as follows:

Aspirants will have to qualify in each of the objective tests with securing minimum passing marks to be determined by the SBI Bank based on the performance of all the candidates taken together in each test to a minimum requisite level. Moreover, applicants are needed to obtain a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For ST/ SC/ PWD/ OBC/XS applicants, 5% relaxation will be given). Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be fixed by the State bank of India.

Phase 3:  Interview

Applicants qualified in the Mains examination will be placed in the merit list according to their marks. Candidates who placed high in the merit list will be called for interview subject to number of vacancies available. Aspirants should score a minimum percentage marks to be specified by the bank in interview round so that they will be considered for final selection.

Test of knowledge of official/ local language

Candidates who produced the 10th standard mark sheet/certificate as a proof that they have studied official (local) language will be exempted to appear in any language test. In the case of other candidates, language test will be held at the time of interview or before final selection. Applicants who failed in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

Phase 4: Final selection

The marks scored in the SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam will not be taken into consideration through the selection process. Candidates should note that only the marks achieved in the Mains Exam will be taken into account for making the final merit list. Aspirants who ranked high in the merit will be given an appointment letter. The SBI Clerk final selection list will be made available on Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar and official website of SBI.
